Disney Alters Muppet*Vision 3-D’s Final Week — Fans Get a Surprise Farewell

There’s one more twist in store for Muppet fans—just before the curtain falls on one of Hollywood Studios’ longest-running shows.

MuppetVision 3-D has been a charming slice of chaos tucked into Grand Avenue since the early days of Disney’s Hollywood Studios. It’s quirky. It’s nostalgic. And it’s one of the few attractions that still carries Jim Henson’s creative fingerprint. But the countdown is officially on. June 7 will be the final day for guests to experience the hilarious mayhem of Kermit, Miss Piggy, and the rest of the gang before the show closes for good.

Fans have known this day was coming, but Disney just made a last-minute adjustment that could change how people say goodbye.

For years, MuppetVision 3-D has been known to shut down before the rest of the park—typically wrapping up its last performance well before nighttime spectaculars like Fantasmic! get going. But not this time. On its final day, Disney is extending the hours so that MuppetVision 3-D will stay open all the way until park close.

That means fans will have one last shot to experience the show during those final evening hours. If you’ve ever wanted to walk out of MuppetVision 3-D and straight into the park’s closing fireworks, now’s your moment.

A Final Farewell to the Muppets

Whether you were pulled in by the zany jokes or the rare mix of 3D film and live-action theater, MuppetVision 3-D carved out a special place in the hearts of Disney guests. It’s not flashy or fast-paced, but it’s packed with charm, corny puns, and genuine heart.

What made it truly iconic was the collaboration between Disney and Jim Henson Productions. It was the last film Henson directed—and the final time he voiced Kermit. That makes every viewing feel like a living tribute to his legacy.

Five colorful puppet characters, reminiscent of Jim Henson's imaginative creations, stand in front of an American flag. The central figure wears a star-spangled sash, surrounded by companions in vibrant outfits. They display expressive faces and unique features, each brimming with personality.

From the orchestra of penguins to Sam Eagle’s overly patriotic finale, it’s an experience that doesn’t try to impress with cutting-edge tech—it wins you over by being unapologetically silly.

What’s Next for the Theater?

Once the Muppets take their final bow, it won’t be long before Disney gets to work on a major transformation. Coming soon: an entire Monsters, Inc. land will take over the area, featuring a first-of-its-kind suspended door coaster.

Inspired by the door vault chase scene in the Pixar classic, this new attraction will let guests soar through Monstropolis in a wild, laugh-powered adventure. The rest of the land promises to bring familiar characters, themed environments, and plenty of Pixar fun to what’s been a quieter corner of the park.

So yes, change is coming. But this week? It’s all about the Muppets.

Whether you’re visiting for the first time or making a special trip to say goodbye, June 7 is your last chance to experience MuppetVision 3-D in all its chaotic glory. And thanks to Disney’s last-minute schedule change, you’ve now got a little more time to do it.
