Disneyland Paris has been known to transform into a winter wonderland each December, layering its familiar facades with festive décor, carolers, and a towering Christmas tree. Families flock to the French resort for parades, meet-and-greets, and seasonal food that blends European traditions with Disney’s hallmark spectacle.
The Walt Disney Company counts on the holidays as a cornerstone of its theme park calendar. At Walt Disney World in Florida, Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party regularly sells out, with tickets reaching as high as $229. Across the property, Hollywood Studios has drawn attention with Disney Jollywood Nights, a newer ticketed event highlighting golden-age Hollywood style.

Internationally, the seasonal programming adapts to local cultures. Tokyo Disney Resort mixes Western-style cheer with Japanese culture, while Hong Kong Disneyland and Shanghai Disney Resort put their own spin on the holidays. Each park turns to special parades, stage shows, and food exclusives to boost attendance during the lucrative season.
Abrupt Change at Disneyland Paris
At Disneyland Paris, the season has historically centered on Mickey’s Dazzling Christmas Parade, tree-lighting ceremonies, and the Let’s Sing Christmas! stage show. Guests can usually expect a European flair in the entertainment and decorations, from ornate garlands down Main Street, U.S.A. to snowy moments that blanket the park in staged flurries.

This year, however, one major element has been cut. Disney confirmed that a planned collaboration with Parisian department store BHV has been canceled. The announcement arrives only weeks before the holiday season is set to begin at the Marne-la-Vallée resort.
According to Disneyland Paris, the decision stemmed from BHV’s separate partnership with fast-fashion giant SHEIN. The company said this agreement “creates conditions” that made it impossible to move forward with the Christmas project.
Holiday Spirit Remains Intact
Despite the change, Disneyland Paris insists the Christmas season will remain robust. The resort confirmed that Mickey’s Dazzling Christmas Parade will once again take to the streets, while Let’s Sing Christmas! returns to its stage with festive music. Visitors can also expect the beloved tree-lighting ceremonies and moments of “magical snowfall.”

New additions are also on the way. Mrs. Claus will debut in a character meet-and-greet alongside Santa Claus, providing families with another holiday photo opportunity. Seasonal snacks, themed merchandise, and park-wide decorations are still scheduled as planned.
Disneyland Paris has leaned heavily on holiday offerings in recent years, with guests often arranging entire vacations around them. The abrupt cancellation may shift some expectations, but Disney appears intent on delivering a full roster of holiday programming despite the lost partnership.
