Disneyland Security Forces Woman To Change Shirt

A Disneyland Resort guest has sparked conversation online after being asked to change her shirt upon arriving at the park. The incident highlights Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort’s strict dress code policies, which have been a topic of debate for years.

Dress code rules at the Disney parks have been in place for years, but the conversation about guests’ attire has gotten more heated in recent years. These policies gained significant attention in 2022 after a viral TikTok trend encouraged parkgoers to intentionally break the dress code to receive free clothing. Before the viral movement, Disney cast members sometimes offered complimentary T-shirts to guests who didn’t meet the dress code, allowing them to continue their day at the parks without returning to their hotels or purchasing new clothing.

Since the trend took off, both Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort have tightened their policies. They now require guests without proper attire to either buy new clothing at the park or return to their hotels.

On June 3, TikTok user Milana Sofia (@milanasofiae) shared a video of herself standing outside the entrance to Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park. “Just got dress coded at Disney,” she wrote in the caption, showing off her outfit to her followers.

Milana Sofia’s video sparked disbelief among commenters.

Disneyland Resort’s official dress code prohibits several articles of clothing. Guests 14 and older are banned from wearing costumes or non-medical masks, clothing with inappropriate or obscene graphics, excessively torn or dragging clothing that could create a trip hazard, and clothing that exposes too much skin for a family-friendly environment. Additionally, guests are not allowed to go barefoot or wear visible tattoos that could be considered offensive.

At first glance, Milana Sofia’s outfit does not seem to violate any of these rules. However, the dress code explicitly states that the list of prohibited clothing is not exhaustive, meaning guests may still be stopped for attire that doesn’t fall under the exact rules listed.

It’s possible that Milana Sofia’s outfit violated the dress code due to the risk posed by her attire on thrill rides. Disney parks have a history of turning away guests wearing tube tops, tie-neck shirts, and other clothing that could come undone during rides, which could create safety issues. This appears to be the reason why Milana Sofia was stopped at the gate. Guests are encouraged to wear shirts with fully attached straps to prevent delays at security.
