Dear Santa: Disney Fans’ Christmas Wish List

Dear Santa:

It’s that time of year again. All the hopes and dreams of getting those things we didn’t get throughout the year turn to you. But as Disney fans, we’ll need a little extra help from you this year. We turn to you because all of our petitions and begging to Disney CEO Bob Iger have been ignored. So, we know that we’re all probably getting a Disney gift card and a Mickey Mouse stuffed toy for Christmas, but this year, we’re asking for a little bit more. Here’s our “brief” list:

Villain Land

Okay, so let’s start with the biggest one first. This year at the D23 Expo, Josh D’Amaro announced some significant changes coming to Walt Disney World, but one thing gave us the most hope. D’Amaro announced the “largest expansion” in the history of the Magic Kingdom.

Every Disney fan gets it. This is a big ask, and we all know that we’ll have to wait until 2025 or later for this gift to arrive under our Christmas tree. But we’re patient people and willing to wait for this. All we’re asking for is an announcement. It doesn’t have to be at Walt Disney World; it can be at Disneyland. But a land devoted to every Disney villain would look so good under the tree.

A Good Movie

It’s been a tough year being a Disney fan at the movies. You have to leave the theater pretending that what you just saw was actually decent. Sure, Elemental (2023) gave us hope, but that was it. Maybe you could drop an idea into a Disney writer’s head or even leave a screenplay under their tree. It doesn’t matter how they get it, can you just give it to them. Maybe a new Disney princess?

Honestly, this gift would be just as much for Bob Iger as it would be for us. And after the year he’s had, he could really use this. Remember when we used to love him? Yeah, nearly every Disney fan forgot to.

Keep Mickey With Disney

Every Disney fan saw what happened to Winnie the Pooh this year. And according to reports, Peter Pan, Tinkerbell, and Bambi are about to get the same treatment. People often comment that Walt Disney is rolling over in his grave, but losing Mickey Mouse and turning him into a serial killer would destroy Walt. We just want to see Mickey and Minnie Mouse together with their friends and not have to worry about them in some slasher movie.

This one would help out Iger, too, but in some cases, our interests align.

End the Feud

It’s been almost 18 months, and this feud has hurt the Walt Disney Company and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis. Sure, we can wait until 2026 when Governor DeSantis is out of office, but who knows how much damage his hand-picked Board will have done by then. Can’t you just get DeSantis and Iger in a room and put an end to this? They can both agree that it was foolish, Disney World can get its District back, and the cash can start flowing again to DeSantis’ campaign.

Santa, if you don’t step in, it seems that they have all agreed on mutually assured destruction. DeSantis’ presidential hopes are dashed, and Disney’s reputation is in tatters. Maybe now would be a good time to call a truce?

Stocking Stuffers

That seems like a pretty good list to start, but if you’re feeling generous this holiday season, we’d like a couple more things. How about a new Star Wars movie that isn’t going to make us angry? Maybe a price drop on tickets across Disney Parks. A new nighttime spectacular with a drone show at one of the American Disney Parks. But if you can’t manage any of those things, we’ll just take a Disney trip at some point in the New Year.

Thank you, Santa, and please try to get as many of these Disney gift ideas for us as you can. We know it’s a tough ask. And just between us, is Iger on the naughty or nice list? That’s what we thought.

Merry Christmas, Santa, and Merry Christmas, Disney Fans everywhere.
