Disney Guests Are Starting to Avoid These Dates on Purpose

There’s no way around it—Disney’s Hollywood Studios is one of the toughest parks to “get right” when it comes to planning. You can show up with a solid strategy and still feel like you’re playing catch-up if the crowds are high enough.

But here’s what a lot of people don’t realize: the calendar matters more than almost anything else.

Some weeks just feel easier. Wait times aren’t as overwhelming, walkways aren’t as packed, and you can actually move through your day without constantly adjusting your plan. If you’re looking for those kinds of days in 2026, these are the weeks to focus on.

Start with April 26th through May 2nd. This is one of the best “in-between” periods of the year. Spring Break has ended, summer hasn’t started, and the park gets a short breather. It’s one of the few times where things feel a little more balanced.

Next, look at August 23rd through August 29th. Late summer can be tricky, but this specific week works in your favor. Schools are reopening, families are heading home, and Labor Day travel hasn’t picked up yet.

September continues that trend. The weeks of September 13th through 19th and September 20th through 26th are typically among the quieter options on the calendar. With school back in session and Florida heat still going strong, fewer people choose to visit.

As the holidays approach, timing becomes even more important. The week of November 15th through November 21st gives you a chance to experience holiday decorations before Thanksgiving crowds arrive.

Then, after one of the busiest weeks of the year, things settle again. November 29th through December 5th often feels noticeably calmer as people return home and get back to work or school.

That slower pace continues into December 6th through December 12th, which sits right before peak holiday travel begins. It’s one of the last chances to enjoy the parks before things get really busy.

Finally, there’s December 16th through December 23rd. This week is all about timing within the week itself. Early days can still feel manageable, but once you get closer to Christmas, the crowds arrive quickly. It’s a narrow window, but it can still work if you plan carefully.

At the end of the day, Hollywood Studios is always going to be popular. But choosing the right week can take your experience from stressful to manageable. And sometimes, that’s all you need to make the day feel completely different.
