Disney’s Halloween season is already producing scenes beyond anything found in the official entertainment lineup.
Oogie Boogie Bash has returned to Disney California Adventure for another Halloween season, bringing rare characters (including Yzma and Dr. Facilier), immersive treat trails, special entertainment, and after-hours access to the Disneyland Resort theme park.
The separately ticketed event is one of Disneyland’s most in-demand seasonal offerings, with dates regularly selling out as guests flock to see Disney villains and experience California Adventure after dark.
But during Thursday’s event, the focus briefly shifted away from Halloween festivities as guests witnessed an unusually large contingent of Disney security and police escorting a woman through the park.
Large Security Response Draws Attention at Disney California Adventure
The incident unfolded at Disney California Adventure on August 27, according to accounts shared by guests on Reddit and TikTok.
Although the circumstances leading up to the removal remain unclear, witnesses claimed the woman appeared intoxicated and was visibly distressed as she was escorted toward a backstage area.
What made the incident particularly noticeable was the scale of the response. One parkgoer estimated that approximately 10 Disney security cast members were present alongside multiple police officers and Disney management.
“This was my first time yesterday going to the Oogie Boogie Bash and through the main thoroughfare near the DVC booth was a woman being escorted, crying through the street,” one guest said on Reddit.
“She was accompanied/pushed through by 3 non-Disney police officers and further escorted by approximately 10 Disney Security members and what looked like 2 Disney Managers.”
According to the same account, the woman did not simply continue toward the exit without incident.
While being removed, she allegedly “attempted to turn around to go back into the park or slip down a side street as she was escorted and had to be more roughly escorted by police officers.”
The witness compared the unusual procession to a famous television scene, describing it as “very reminiscent of the Game of Thrones shame scene as she was marched down the street.”

Separate footage posted to TikTok appears to show the woman being escorted toward a backstage entrance near the upper end of Hollywood Land.
The video does not establish what happened before security intervened, meaning the precise reason for the removal has not been independently confirmed.
However, the Reddit witness claimed the woman appeared to have come from the Paradise Garden Park area and was “sobbing hysterically.”
According to that account, the woman “repeatedly tried to turn around as if to make something right or apologize” before allegedly attempting to move away toward Avengers Campus.
Another TikTok user offered a similar account of events leading up to the police involvement.
“She was in the restrooms for 25 minutes by the winery. Security was out there waiting for her. She ran out, and took off. Since security can’t touch her, PD came by.”
The daylight visible in footage suggests the incident occurred either before the official start of Oogie Boogie Bash or during the early portion of the Halloween event.
Disney has not publicly detailed the incident or confirmed whether the woman was arrested, cited, banned, or simply removed from Disney California Adventure.
Alcohol-Related Incidents Continue to Surface at Disney Parks
Disney California Adventure has long had a different reputation from neighboring Disneyland Park when it comes to alcohol.
Beer, wine, cocktails, and other alcoholic beverages are readily available across restaurants, lounges, seasonal festival booths, and quick-service locations throughout DCA.
Disneyland Park historically maintained much tighter restrictions, although alcohol is now available at a growing number of table-service restaurants inside the original Anaheim theme park.
That difference has helped California Adventure develop a reputation among some guests as Disneyland Resort’s more alcohol-focused park, particularly during events such as the Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival.
Stories involving allegedly intoxicated Disney guests are hardly limited to California.
In March, footage from Walt Disney World went viral after an allegedly intoxicated man was filmed body-slamming and kicking a hotel room door in The Little Mermaid area of Disney’s Art of Animation Resort.
The man was also seen attempting to strike the door with a suitcase. Law enforcement eventually responded, although it remains unclear whether he was arrested or formally removed from Walt Disney World property.
Another incident emerged earlier this year involving Disney Springs.
A man was reportedly arrested in December after allegedly refusing to leave The Polite Pig after staff stopped serving him alcohol.
Reports claimed the guest reacted poorly after being cut off at the restaurant’s bar before law enforcement became involved.
Disney parks host tens of millions of visitors each year, meaning disruptive incidents still represent a tiny fraction of daily guest interactions.
Even so, a procession involving roughly 10 Disney security cast members, several police officers, and management was enough to stand out during one of Disneyland Resort’s biggest Halloween events.
