Main Street, U.S.A. has lost one of its sweetest stops.
Ice cream shops have long been woven into the nostalgic Main Street experience at Disney's castle parks. Walt Disney World has Plaza Ice Cream Parlor, while Disneyland Resort and Disneyland Paris both operate Gibson Girl Ice Cream Parlors serving classic cones and sundaes.
The tradition extends to parks without a literal Main Street, U.S.A. Tokyo Disneyland's World Bazaar features Ice Cream Cones, while Disneyland Paris has historically offered guests two dedicated ice cream locations near the entrance to Disneyland Park.
That number has now dropped to one, at least temporarily, after Disney closed The Ice Cream Company on September 28 with no reopening date announced.
Disney Removes One of Its Main Street Ice Cream Shops
The Ice Cream Company sits on Market Street, one of the small side streets branching from Main Street, U.S.A. Disneyland Paris still describes the area as home to The Coffee Grinder, Harrington's Fine China & Porcelains, and The Ice Cream Company.
The location typically serves tubs of Ben & Jerry's ice cream alongside drinks including hot chocolate and coffee. However, the service window where cast members usually take orders has now been covered.

The shutdown follows several weeks of reduced operations. Beginning September 7, The Ice Cream Company and The Gibson Girl Ice Cream Parlour switched to weekend-only schedules ahead of the former's indefinite closure on September 28.
Disneyland Paris has not publicly given a reason for the closure or confirmed when the location could return. Its official Main Street, U.S.A. webpage still lists The Ice Cream Company among the land's dining locations.
The Gibson Girl Ice Cream Parlour remains the area's dedicated ice cream alternative. Disney describes the early 20th-century-inspired parlor as serving Carte d'Or ice cream, and its official restaurant page remains active.
Unlike The Ice Cream Company, Gibson Girl also serves other sweet options, including Mickey-shaped beignets and muffins. Champagne in souvenir flutes has also featured on its menu.
Disney Still Has Plenty of Sweet Treats Nearby
Guests visiting Disneyland Park still have several options nearby, particularly as Disney moves deeper into its Halloween season.
Victoria's Home-Style Restaurant is another Main Street, U.S.A. location specializing in elaborate desserts and drinks. Disneyland Paris describes its homemade treats as one of the street's specialties, alongside the Carte d'Or ice cream served at Gibson Girl.
For Halloween 2026, Victoria's is serving Ursula's Curse Cake, part of a seasonal food lineup inspired by Disney Villains and the park's “Mischief Makers.” The Halloween festival began September 26 and runs through November 1.
The location has also become known for Mickey-shaped waffles, milkshakes, cold brew creations, and other rotating desserts, giving guests another option within a short walk of the shuttered ice cream counter.
Disneyland Paris has increasingly expanded its seasonal food offerings in recent years, particularly around Halloween and Christmas, even as some smaller dining locations continue to operate on limited schedules.
