Disney Keeps Arresting Guests—and the Reasons Just Keep Getting Crazier

Walt Disney World brings childhood dreams to life with spinning teacups and maybe a few Mickey-shaped pretzels. But occasionally, a guest stirs up chaos and turns the Most Magical Place on Earth into something that feels more like The Real Housewives of Orlando.

From spy cameras to menu hacking and a guy who rang in the New Year by stripping and brawling with a gift kiosk, these guests made their vacation memorable for all the wrong reasons.

Here are ten wild, weird, and very real Disney World arrests.

2022 – Castle Threat Meets Customs Curtain

1. Internship Ends With a Bang (Almost) – In May 2022, Canadian citizen and former Disney College Program intern Matthew Carney was stopped by border agents at the Canadian border. What tipped them off? A warrant from Florida. Apparently, Carney allegedly threatened to bomb Cinderella Castle during his 2019 internship.

Yes, the alleged threat was years old and technically not made on park property, but when your farewell gift to the Mouse is an alleged bomb threat, you’re probably not getting a return invite. The real kicker? If you’ve ever interned at Disney, you know the worst part is usually just sweeping popcorn. Carney took it up about 10 notches.

2. Spycam Scandal at Galaxy’s Edge – Jorge Diaz Vega, 26, decided to use his job at Dok-Ondar’s Den of Antiquities for something way creepier than collecting kyber crystals. In March, he was caught filming over 500 up-skirt videos of guests, many of whom were minors. He did this while pretending to help with merchandise. Disney immediately fired him, and local law enforcement charged him with video voyeurism. Instead of “a galaxy far, far away,” Vega’s next stop was likely a cell not themed to Star Wars.

3. Punch Over a Photo at the 100‑Year Sign – At Magic Kingdom’s iconic “100 Years of Wonder” sign, the only thing getting celebrated was someone’s right hook. Two families were trying to pose for photos, and things got heated. A verbal spat escalated into a full-on fight, and security had to intervene. In true Disney fashion, both families got lifetime bans. The mouse has zero tolerance for turning photo ops into prize fights.

4. Shameful Show at EPCOT Entry – Outside EPCOT, two men from Plantation and Fort Lauderdale decided to harass a woman in a wheelchair. When cast members stepped in, the men also turned their insults toward them. Deputies arrested both on charges of disorderly conduct.

2024 – Badge Fits, Booze Fights & Mouthless Manners

5. When Cop Meets Castle Security – A police officer should know better. But in January, Massachusetts detective Duane Danforth found himself in hot water after being denied access to a private event at EPCOT. Instead of shrugging it off, he reportedly shoved a security guard and threatened a responding deputy. He was arrested for battery and resisting an officer. His department placed him on administrative leave—because apparently “do you know who I am?” doesn’t fly at the Food & Wine Festival.

6. Spit Happens – Domingo Pagan, 47, had too much to drink at EPCOT and took his frustration out on a cast member… by spitting through his face mask. He was arrested for battery. Moral of the story: save the spitting for The Magic Carpets of Aladdin camels.

2025 – Parade Punches, Kiosk Crashes & Coke in the Castle

7. Boxer Briefs & Broken Booths – It was barely midnight on New Year’s Day when a 24-year-old man from Port Orange started 2025 with a bang—and not the fireworks kind. Witnesses say he stripped down to his underwear near EPCOT, urinated in the bushes, and then went full WWE on a merchandise kiosk, causing over $1,000 in damage. He was charged with felony criminal mischief and disorderly intoxication. When your year starts with public urination and property damage, you might want to go ahead and hit “restart.”

8. Menu Sabotage by an Insider –This one feels like a Disney+ cyber-thriller. In early 2025, former cast member Michael Scheuer hacked Disney’s internal menu system. He swapped allergy warnings, changed prices, and—wait for it—uploaded Nazi imagery to restaurant screens across the resort. The FBI stepped in, and investigators estimated the damage at over $150,000.

9. Parade Push Ends in Arrest –During a Magic Kingdom parade, 51-year-old tourist Martha Lucia Zapata‑Echeverri grabbed a teenager and shoved her aside for a better view. She left the 17-year-old girl with bruises, and authorities arrested Zapata-Echeverri for child abuse. Ask a cast member if you want a better view—don’t turn the parade into Gladiator.

10. Cocaine Where the Pixie Dust Should Be – In March, Dustin Lee Wallace, 44, of St. Augustine, got stopped at the Magic Kingdom bus loop. Security found a bag of cocaine in his wallet. He was arrested and permanently banned from Disney property. To be clear, Disney doesn’t need help making dreams come true. Especially not that kind of “magic.”

Reality Check: The Magic Can’t Fix Everything

Walt Disney World is built on pixie dust and fantasy, but that doesn’t mean guests always follow the storybook script. From hackers to harassers, underwear escapades to controlled substances, these arrests remind us that not everyone leaves their baggage (literal or emotional) at the hotel.

So if you’re heading to the parks soon: don’t hack the menus, don’t get into fisticuffs at a parade, and please—keep your pants on.

The only arrest-worthy thing you should be doing at Disney is hoarding too many popcorn buckets.
