Disney's Hollywood Studios opened a brand new Alice in Wonderland playground inside the Magic of Disney Animation building.
A mom brought her young daughters on day one and found a grown man with no kids walking the area with a live stream running.

She posted about it on Threads. Hundreds of replies landed within hours, and the thread turned into the argument Disney fans have been circling for a couple of years now.
“There was a grown man with no kids walking around LIVE STREAMING the playground and kids, that doesn't sit right with me,” wrote user tayloroftomorrow. “I understand it's new and you want to check it out and that's all fine and dandy but you don't need to be live streaming young kids ever.”

For the record: nobody has alleged anything illegal. Disney has not commented, has not acted, has not said one word.
Okay, So What Is the Actual Problem at Disney World
Look, the complaint is not really about a camera. Cameras are everywhere at Disney World.
It is about the word live.
A recorded video gets edited. A creator shooting B-roll can crop faces out before a single person sees it. There is a gap between filming and posting, and that gap is where judgment happens.
A live stream has no gap. Kids' faces go out in real time, to an audience nobody vetted, with a chat scrolling next to them. Nothing gets pulled back.
It also announces the location. These kids, this playground, right now.
Commenters got to the practical fix fast.
“Male influencers and I will keep saying, do not need to be any where near the kids areas n filming,” wrote user bookslavendertea. “Even, if they're excited about the new area. They, should go early when kids are not there to get their B-Roll.”
And somebody usefully widened it.
“Any adult influencer. Women are sick too. Don't get twisted,” wrote user the_new_jan_brady.
Fair point. This is about adults filming kids they do not know. Narrowing it to men makes the argument easier to dismiss.
Now the Other Side, Because It Exists
“Who cares? He has a right to live stream it,” wrote user cruisergirl2012.
And honestly, that is not nothing.
This is a job for a lot of people. Their entire audience exists because they show up the day a new thing opens. A brand new playground is the exact content that pays their bills.
Here is the part nobody in that thread seems to know, though. Disney already has a rule. Park policies generally ban photography and video for commercial purposes without prior written approval. A monetized live stream sits in a gray zone under that, and Disney enforces it whenever it feels like enforcing it.
So the tool exists. Disney just has not picked it up.
The Toddler Thing
This is the part that actually decides it for most parents.
Tell an eight year old to steer clear of one corner of the playground. Done. They listen.
A four year old? No chance. They do not understand why the fun part is suddenly off limits, and mom should not be running that negotiation during the one easy hour of the whole day.
That is what makes a play area different from a queue or a walkway. You can steer a big kid. You cannot steer a toddler, and you definitely cannot body block a camera for forty minutes.
What To Actually Do About It
Posting later does nothing. Handle it there.
“You should've complained to Guest Relations or security,” wrote user cjzobi.
Correct answer. A cast member standing right there, or Guest Relations. That is the only thing that changes anything while it is happening.
Everybody Can Win Here, Genuinely
Film at rope drop before families show up. Shoot wide. Point the camera at the playground instead of the children on it, which is the thing people want to see anyway.
Several people in the thread suggested exactly that. It costs a creator one early alarm.
One more wrinkle worth flagging:
“It's for children and the large ratio of adults in line for it took away from children actually trying to get a spot for the next session,” wrote user gabrielle_andtherose.
Different issue. Same root. A new kids' area fills up with adults who did not bring kids, and the children it was built for end up waiting behind them.
