Walt Disney World Resort fans have been playing it fast and loose with the complaints lately — especially since, until very recently, Bob Chapek was the CEO of the Walt Disney Company instead of CEO Bob Iger — and one particularly evident point of contention among Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort Guests was the Pirates of the Caribbean hotel rooms in the Disney Resort.

These hotel rooms did certainly suit the Pirates of the Caribbean and Captain Jack Sparrow style, but they also disappointed many Disney Guests, so Disney announced plans to change those rooms completely several months ago.

The rooms are still on their way to completion, but we did learn that they would be sporting a special Little Mermaid style now instead — and now, Disney has offered a sneak peek of the rooms’ aesthetic!

Judging by the photos of the new  Little Mermaid-themed rooms that have been shared on the Walt Disney World Cast and Community Facebook page, the hotel suites will indeed look very, very different from their former state!

“Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort recently added some fin-tastic touches to guest rooms in the Trinidad area of the resort, and Cast Members were excited to be the first to “sea” them!” the Facebook post reads.

Apparently, the suites will now “accommodate more Guests and feature special touches” from The Little Mermaid.

Judging by the comments on the Facebook post, it seems like the overall dark and closed-off aesthetic of the previous pirate rooms was a big part of many Guests’ decision not to stay in them. Many Disney fans responded positively to the lightness, brightness, airiness, and open space feeling from the new rooms.

The dark woods and below-decks style might have suited the previous pirate-themed rooms very well, but apparently, that was also the pirate rooms’ downfall! Hopefully, these new open sea-inspired Little Mermaid hotel rooms will be a bigger success for Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort than their predecessors were!

For now, these rooms are still unavailable for bookings, but Disney Fanatic will keep a close eye on any updates pertaining to these “fin-tastic” suites! Have you stayed at this Disney Resort hotel while visiting Disney Parks like the Magic Kingdom?
