When mass shootings break the news, it is an eery feeling. As the anchor or writer describes the general who, what, where, when, and how to his or her best ability, viewers cannot help but wonder on some level if they knew someone in that mass of unknown bystanders. Well, there was a mass shooting in Sacramento, California, on April 3, 2022, and Disney fans will know two girls that were caught in that crossfire: Disney Channel Stars Aly and AJ.

The sister pop singers Aly Michalka and AJ Michalka were in Downtown Sacramento for a show at the Crest Theatre and appeared to have been on their bus when the incident occurred. It appears that everyone in their group came through okay.

The American pop duo tweeted,

“Distraught by the mass shooting last night outside the venue in Sacramento. All of our thoughts are with the families of those who lost their lives and those recovering today. We’re praying for the health care workers caring for them. We hope all our fans made it home safe.”

And they further explained,

“Our bus was caught in the crossfire but we sheltered in place and everyone in our touring group is ok. Thank you for everyone reaching out. A reminder to keep your loved ones extra close today. We have to do something about gun violence in this country.”

Aly and AJ have been members of the Disney family for some time, coming in with the same class of artists as Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus and The Jonas Brothers. They also starred in Disney Channel shows and headlined the Disney Channel Original Movie, Cow Belles.
