Three Things I’ll NEVER Do At Walt Disney World Again

Walt Disney World is a magical place filled with wonder, excitement, and incredible experiences. As a seasoned Disney Parks visitor, I’ve learned through trial and error what works best for creating a truly magical vacation. While there are countless must-dos and hidden gems to discover, there are also a few things I’ve learned to avoid entirely. Based on my experiences, here are three things I’ll never do at Walt Disney World again, along with tips to help you make the most of your trip.

1. Never Rely Solely on Disney Bus Transportation

While Disney’s complimentary bus service is convenient for many guests, it’s not always the most efficient or enjoyable way to get around the massive Walt Disney World Resort. Traffic delays, long waits, and crowded buses can quickly sap the magic from your day.

Instead, consider these alternatives:

  • Disney Skyliner: Offering breathtaking views and quick access between select resorts and parks, the Skyliner is a fan favorite.
  • Monorail: A classic option connecting Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, and several deluxe resorts.
  • Ferry Boats: A peaceful way to travel, especially when heading to Magic Kingdom.
  • Minnie Vans: Disney’s rideshare service, operated via the Lyft app, offers a comfortable and efficient way to travel in true Disney style.
  • Driving Yourself: If you have a vehicle, driving can save time and provide flexibility. Resort guests also enjoy free parking at the parks.

By exploring these alternatives, you’ll minimize frustration and make your transportation experience part of the magic.

2. Never Sleep In on Park Days

If you’re planning to visit Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, or Disney’s Animal Kingdom, waking up early is a game changer. Arriving at the parks before opening allows you to take advantage of shorter wait times and cooler morning temperatures.

Benefits of waking up early:

  • Shorter Lines: Enjoy headliner attractions with minimal waits before the crowds arrive.
  • Exclusive Access: Resort guests often receive early park entry, giving you a head start.
  • Special Experiences: Morning is the best time for outdoor character meet-and-greets and exploring quieter areas of the parks.

Planning Tip: If you’re not a morning person, consider scheduling a relaxing day at your resort or Disney Springs after an early park day to recharge.

3. Never Spend Every Day in the Parks

While the parks are undoubtedly the main attraction, dedicating every single day to park hopping can leave you feeling exhausted. Walt Disney World resorts and other areas offer plenty of ways to enjoy the magic without stepping foot in a park.

On non-park days, consider:

  • Resort Activities: Take a dip in your resort’s pool, indulge in dining options, or participate in unique experiences like outdoor movie nights or scavenger hunts.
  • Disney Springs: Explore world-class shopping, dining, and entertainment options, from the LEGO Store to the stunning Cirque du Soleil show, “Drawn to Life.
  • Resort Hopping: Visit iconic locations like Disney’s BoardWalk or explore the luxurious ambiance of Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa.
  • Relaxation: Treat yourself to a spa day or enjoy the peaceful surroundings of your resort.

Balancing park days with downtime ensures your vacation feels like a true escape and leaves you with unforgettable memories.

Final Thoughts

A Walt Disney World vacation is a magical adventure, but it’s also an opportunity to learn what works best for you and your travel group. By avoiding reliance on Disney buses, making the most of early mornings, and taking time to relax outside the parks, you can enhance your experience and create a trip filled with magical moments.

  1. I won’t visit Oga’s Cantina again since the forc d me to leave. I violated the “45 minute limit “ to visit the Cantina. This rule is at the bottom of your reservation. I was in Orlando and my reservation was on my home computer. I knew nothing of the rule. My visit to the Cantina was actually 35 minutes because I had to leave the Cantina to use the restroom. The staff put me in danger by forcing me to leave. I am disabled and take medication. I had ordered and was drinking an alcoholic beverage . I needed enough time to metabolize the alcohol before I tried to walk. Forcing me to walk really put me in a bad situation which the staff and management didn’t care.
