Walt Disney World's Hispanic and Latin American Heritage Month celebration started today. Luis Fonsi is attached to it, and the EPCOT concert slate is included with admission.
Some context.
Look, Disney World runs a lot of celebrations and they absolutely do not all carry the same weight.
Some are basically a merchandise drop with a hashtag stapled on. Others get real programming, real talent, and real presence spread across multiple parks. You can usually figure out which one you are dealing with within about five minutes of walking through a gate.
This one is the second kind.
The theme is “Together We Are Magia,” and it runs September 15 through October 15, 2026.
Luis Fonsi Is In
The Puerto Rican superstar is part of this year's festivities, and honestly his involvement sets the whole tone.
“It's an honor to be part of this celebration and to share all the magia,” Fonsi said.
That word choice is doing real work. “Magia” anchors the theme itself, and it is the kind of bilingual wordplay that lands naturally instead of reading like it came out of a focus group. Disney celebrations sometimes faceplant on exactly that. This one does not.
And Fonsi is one of the most commercially successful Latin artists of the last two decades, so attaching his name pushes this well past the usual park-going audience.
The Concerts
Eat to the Beat is stacked with Latin talent all month:
- Latin Ambition, September 15 through 17
- Grupo Mania, September 20 and 21
- Metro Latino Band, September 22 through 24
- Rey Ruiz, October 5 and 6
- Viva Latina, October 9 through 11
Every single one included with park admission. No upcharge. No separate ticket. No dining package requirement.
Which is worth saying loudly at a resort where premium experiences increasingly come with a price tag bolted on.
Already doing an EPCOT day during the Food and Wine Festival? Building your evening around one of these costs you absolutely nothing extra.
The Character Lineup
Two parks, and a seriously impressive roster.
At EPCOT, ¡Celebración Encanto! with Mirabel and Bruno.
At Magic Kingdom, the Disney Adventure Friends Cavalcade featuring Mirabel, Miguel from Coco, Princess Elena, José Carioca, and Panchito.
Now look harder at that Magic Kingdom list, because the range on it is wild.
José Carioca and Panchito date all the way back to the 1940s and Disney's Good Neighbor Policy films, Saludos Amigos and The Three Caballeros. Princess Elena showed up in 2016 as Disney's first Latina princess. Mirabel and Miguel are the modern era.
Eight decades of Disney's relationship with Latin American culture rolling down Main Street together. That does not happen often, and for longtime fans it is genuinely the most interesting thing in this entire celebration.
New Coco Merch
A fresh Coco collection landed right on time:
- A Miguel mug
- A floral tee
- An alebrije headband
Keep an eye on that headband. Alebrijes are the brilliantly colored folk art creatures central to Coco, and they translate unusually well into wearable merchandise because the source material is already so loud and vivid.
Celebration-window merch moves fast. Early in the run beats late.
Movies Under the Stars
Disney is also running Hispanic and Latin American inspired content through Movies Under the Stars at the resort hotels.
Easy to skip right over, and genuinely useful.
Free for resort guests, happens after park days, requires zero planning whatsoever. For families with kids who are completely finished by seven o'clock, it keeps the celebration going without dragging anybody back into a park.
How to Actually Plan It
Notes on the September 15 through October 15 window.
The concerts are the schedule-dependent part. Five acts across five separate date ranges means checking which performer actually lines up with your trip instead of assuming there is music every night.
Character stuff runs throughout, so that is flexible.
Merch is the thing most likely to sell out. Especially that headband.
And all of it overlaps the EPCOT International Food and Wine Festival, which is already running. That makes EPCOT the highest-value park on property right now, because festival booths, Eat to the Beat, and ¡Celebración Encanto! all come with one admission.
For something that could have easily been a T-shirt and a social post, this is a legitimately full slate, spread across enough of the resort that guests are going to walk right into it.
Together We Are Magia runs September 15 through October 15, 2026 at Walt Disney World.
