Disney is handing out free candy and rare characters on three Mondays in October. Almost nobody reading this qualifies.
Here's some context.
Look, Halloween at Walt Disney World has gotten genuinely expensive.
Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party runs $119 to $229 a head depending on the night, and multiple dates are already sold out. Party-exclusive merch evaporates. Popcorn buckets and sippers pile up. A family of four can blow past $600 on one party night before anybody even touches a churro.
None of that makes the party bad. It is one of the strongest hard ticket events Disney runs. But it does mean plenty of guests are out there looking for Halloween that does not require emptying out your wallet.
Disney Vacation Club Members have exactly that, and it is back.
The Three Disney Dates
The Disney Vacation Club Halloween Meet & Treat returns to Atlantic Dance Hall at Disney's BoardWalk on:
- Monday, October 5, 2026
- Monday, October 12, 2026
- Monday, October 26, 2026
Every one runs 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Eastern.
Two-hour windows. Three dates. That is the whole thing.
You Get One. That Is It.
The rule that is going to annoy people.
Members are capped at one date per DVC Membership. Disney set it up that way so as many eligible participants as possible actually get in the door.
So no hitting all three. Pick one and build around it.
What You Walk Into
Attendees meet Disney Characters in Halloween costumes and collect candy.
Specific characters and treat selections have not been announced and are subject to change.
For a read on what to expect, the very first Disney Vacation Club Halloween Meet & Treat at Disney's BoardWalk back in 2022 brought out the hag from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Vampire Goofy, and Oogie Boogie from The Nightmare Before Christmas.
That tells you everything about the tone. These are not run-of-the-mill character meets. The costumed versions are the entire point, and the hag in particular almost never shows up anywhere.
Here Is Who Actually Gets In
Stacked requirements, so read carefully.
- Open to Disney Vacation Club Members eligible for Membership Extras
- You need a qualifying reservation booked through your eligible Membership
- That reservation has to be at a Disney-owned-and-operated Walt Disney World Resort hotel or Disney's Vero Beach Resort
- It has to be active on the day you show up
That last line is doing the heavy lifting. Owning a Membership is not enough. You have to be staying on a qualifying reservation that day.
How Many You Can Bring
Each Member gets up to four guests per Membership Card, or however many people are on their resort reservation.
Anyone under 18 needs a participating parent or guardian with them.
Nothing to Book
Small mercy for anybody sick of 7 a.m. booking windows.
No advance registration.
Members show a valid Disney Vacation Club Digital Membership Card and photo ID at check-in, and the person named on that card has to actually be there.
Have the Membership Card pulled up before you walk over, and make sure the named Member is in the group.
The Venue Is a Smart Call
Atlantic Dance Hall works for this.
Indoor. Air conditioned. Which matters a lot in Central Florida in early October when the heat has not broken yet. Anybody who tried an outdoor character meet this August gets it instantly.
Disney's BoardWalk also walks to EPCOT and boats to Disney's Hollywood Studios, so this slots into a morning before a park day rather than eating a whole separate outing.
Plus, Mondays. Generally lighter across property.
Do Not Confuse This With the Disney Halloween Party
Being straight about it.
Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is a full evening. Parade, fireworks, stage show, trick-or-treating across Magic Kingdom, enormous character lineup. This is two hours of characters and candy.
Completely different animals. This does not replace a party ticket.
What it is: free Halloween with rare costumed characters, indoors, on a Monday morning, for Members already staying on property. That is a genuinely great perk that costs nothing.
Lock It In
October 5, 12, and 26. All Mondays. 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
One date per Membership. No registration. Digital Membership Card and photo ID at the door.
DVC Member with an October trip already booked? Give up a morning for this one.
