Havoc and Turmoil at Disney World: Crowds Take Over Family Destination Overnight

Spring break crowds have arrived at Walt Disney World Resort, and with them, the chaos many Disney Parks fans were dreading. This week, a viral video posted by a Disney Park guest has given a glimpse into the overwhelming crowd levels at one of Disney’s most popular attractions: the Disney Skyliner.

The video, shared by TikTok user @hollypalombotravel, shows thousands of guests lined up an hour before Early Theme Park Entry at EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios. “I’ve stayed here multiple times and never had to wait this far back,” the guest wrote.

Crowd levels at Walt Disney World Resort during peak seasons like spring break are always a concern for visitors. Magic Kingdom Park, EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park are all particularly affected when public schools are closed. The week between Christmas and New Year’s, along with spring break, consistently brings some of the heaviest crowds to the parks, and this year is no different.

Guests reported crowds began to swell earlier this month, even before most schools let out for spring break. With over a month before Easter, many Disney Parks fans are already fleeing Walt Disney World Resort as it fills up.

The scene described by the TikTok user is a perfect example of just how packed the parks are right now. In the video, guests were seen lining up early in the morning for the Disney Skyliner, a popular mode of transport between Disney’s Pop Century Resort, Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, Disney’s Riviera Resort, EPCOT, and Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

The video quickly gained traction, with over 300,000 views and thousands of likes and comments from fellow Disney Parks fans. Many viewers shared their own experiences with spring break crowds, with some even stating that they deliberately avoid visiting Disney World during this time of year.

“This is why I’ll always take my kid out of school vs waiting for a break,” said one commenter, @cecemcgee32.

“This is why I stay the hell away from Disney over spring break,” @bridget7575 wrote.

Despite the long lines and heavy crowds, the TikTok user later revealed that arriving just 35 minutes earlier—around 6:55 a.m.—allowed for a much smoother experience. By arriving earlier, they managed to avoid some of the chaos and shared a second video showing families lined up in the dark, waiting for the Disney Skyliner to open at 7:30 a.m.

Replying to @nanist0v4r If you are staying at a Skyliner resort here is a good idea of the line at 6:55! The Skyliner technically opens at 7:30. #springbreak #disney #popcentury #skyliner #epcot #flowerandgardenfestival

While visiting Walt Disney World Resort during a slower season is ideal, some families have no choice but to visit during busy times like spring break. Getting an early start can make all the difference for guests planning to visit the Disney parks during spring break.

The Disney Skyliner is one of the busiest modes of transport at Walt Disney World Resort, especially in the morning. Disney’s Pop Century Resort and Disney’s Art of Animation Resort share a Skyliner station, making it busier than others. For a smoother experience, try grabbing a quick breakfast and getting in line early to ensure a stress-free rope drop experience at EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
