Disney has announced that from late March 2025 until mid-February 2026, the resort’s guest rooms will undergo extensive refurbishments, giving these beloved accommodations a fresh, modern update. While this news promises a revitalized experience in the future, it also means there will be some construction activity to contend with for nearly a year.

What This Refurbishment Means for Guests

During the room refurbishments, guests staying at Pop Century can expect construction activity, particularly during daytime hours.

Although Disney aims to minimize disruptions, there will likely be some noise, especially noticeable for guests planning midday breaks or afternoon rests. All resort amenities will remain open, but it’s worth noting that the construction teams will be working to bring these updates to life, which may impact the normally lively, carefree atmosphere of Pop Century.

The refurbishment will likely include updated furnishings, fresh decor, and enhancements that bring the rooms in line with Disney’s recent resort upgrades. Though specific design details haven’t been shared, Pop Century’s refresh aims to elevate the overall experience without losing the nostalgia and fun vibe that make this resort a fan favorite.

Options for a Quieter Stay

For those who prefer a quieter retreat or are planning to spend significant time at the resort during the day, considering alternate accommodations may be a smart move.

Art of Animation, Pop Century’s sister resort, is just a short walk away and offers family suites and standard rooms in similarly bold, colorful themes. It’s an easy choice for guests who want to avoid the noise and activity associated with long-term renovations.

Alternatively, moderate-level resorts like Port Orleans – French Quarter provide a peaceful, scenic experience with New Orleans-inspired charm and are a great option for those looking to stay within a reasonable budget.

Current 2024 Food Court Updates

It’s also worth noting that Pop Century’s Everything POP Food Court is currently undergoing its own refurbishment, expected to wrap up by November 30, 2024. Guests are being directed to alternate entrances, and dining room seating is somewhat limited. While this update will be completed before the room renovations begin, it’s a reminder that Pop Century is in a period of transition.

The Future Look of Pop Century

While the temporary inconvenience of construction may deter some guests, Pop Century’s upcoming updates promise a more comfortable and appealing experience in the long run. Disney’s goal is to keep its value resorts fresh and attractive, and with Pop Century’s popularity among budget-conscious Disney fans, these updates are sure to be appreciated by future guests.

Planning to stay at Pop Century in 2025? Be sure to consider your itinerary and decide if a refreshed experience outweighs the possibility of daytime noise. Or, if peace and quiet are top priorities, exploring other Disney resort options could help ensure a more relaxing stay.
