One of the things that Disney prides itself on is making guests feel safe while visiting its theme parks. Disney hires its own security guards, but also works in conjunction with local police forces, as well as K-9 units. Many guests who have visited Disney parks probably remember approaching Disney security stands before ending the parks and seeing K-9 units walking along, making sure no one is trying to sneak illegal substances into the parks.

Every guest must go through a security check before being allowed to enter a Disney theme park. At Disneyland Resort, Disney security searches through each bag and stroller, and then the guests must go through metal detectors. Over at Walt Disney World Resort, guests carry their bags through metal detectors. If the alarm goes off, security must examine the bag.

Well, according to a recently released report from the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, one woman did not like how long it was taking her to get through Disney World security. So, she decided to create a scene.

The report states that, back in September, police were called to Disney’s Hollywood Studios over reports of an “irate park guest.” The guest was identified as Sabrina Nagel of Georgia. Nagel had allegedly set off the security sensors at the park when she walked through with her bag and stroller. She was sent off to the side, so security could check her belongings.

Nagel was reportedly angry over how long it was taking security to go through her belongings. The officer who responded to the scene said in the report that he was told, “Sabrina [Nagel] and her family arrived at the security area, she was visibly upset about following instructions and giving security a lot of attitude.”

As security looked through her bags, Nagel allegedly pulled out a bra and waved it in the air, shouting, “Do you want to see my bra?!” The guard said that no one wanted to see her undergarments.

After security examined her belongings, Nagel tried to take the plastic bin that held her belongings with her. The security guard reportedly told her that she was not allowed to remove the bin from the area. She aggressively tried to take it and allegedly hit the guard in the arm. It was then that the Disney security guard alerted a higher-up.

The report continues that Nagel was escorted to a back area where she was complaining about how much time they were wasting, and she just wanted to go into the park. She also denied striking the guard and said that she was the one who needed to file a police report. Nagel claimed that the guard grabbed the bin out of her hands.

No arrests were made, and no charges were filed against either the Disney security guard or Ms. Nagel. We do not know if she was allowed to enter Disney’s Hollywood Studios after the incident.

If you are visiting a Walt Disney World theme park, please remember that cast members and security are just trying to keep everyone safe. They don’t go through your bags because they are nosy. They just want to make sure no one is trying to sneak prohibited items into the parks.
