A recent TikTok video has sparked a debate about parenting choices at Walt Disney World Resort. The video showcases three children playing in a dangerous off-limits area at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge.
The video, posted by TikTok user @hannahheisdorf on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, shows the children climbing around near the Deluxe Disney Resort hotel’s iconic geyser and waterfall. The children had ventured into a fenced-off area near the hotel’s pool, violating safety rules.
@hannahheisdorf where are your parentsssss #disney #wildernesslodge #kids
“Where are your parentsssss?” the video’s caption reads.
The footage quickly gained traction, amassing over 60,000 views. It led to heated discussions about the responsibilities of parents while vacationing at Walt Disney World Resort, as well as the role of cast members in ensuring safety. However, despite the safety concerns raised by viewers, the TikToker reported that no intervention from Disney cast members occurred at the time of the incident.
The situation sparked a wave of comments, with many social media users expressing concern over the children’s safety, especially with the active artificial geyser. Some viewers pointed out the dangers of playing in or near a geyser, with the possibility of high water pressure causing serious injury.
“Geysers have a ton of water pressure to be able to shoot water into a straight stream into the air,” said @lifewithyagirl. “If a child got hit in the face with that, they would get really hurt.”
“This is SO dangerous holy cow,” @lcgenx79 added.
Other social media users shared their own experiences with what they perceived as poor parenting at Walt Disney World Resort.
“Was there a few months ago and parents were letting kids climb to the top of the waterfall and taking pictures,” @hamiltonra99 wrote. “My jaw just dropped.”
“Not shocked at all,” said @pitatsirk. “I just called a mom out for making her kid pee in the corner of a door by the Tomorrowland Terrace (near the Stitch ’statue’). I mean, what’s next????”
However, a few people defended the actions of the family involved.
“Kids let kids this age run around alone all the time… not saying they should but I mean… at home in their neighborhood this would be a normal thing to do… play in a creek… we can’t be mad at kids for not understanding this,” @k039574 wrote.
