Disney's Wilderness Lodge has spent years building a reputation as one of the most relaxing resorts at Walt Disney World. Recently, however, guests have been talking less about the resort's atmosphere and more about its air conditioning.

According to reporting from WDWNT, Wilderness Lodge has been experiencing cooling problems for nearly a week, leading Disney to schedule additional maintenance work and temporarily suspend air conditioning service during part of the morning on June 24.
The reported issues first surfaced several days earlier when guests began describing unusually warm conditions throughout parts of the resort. Reports indicated that guest rooms, dining locations, hallways, and public areas were among the spaces affected.
The problem arrived during one of the hottest times of the year in Central Florida.
For many Walt Disney World visitors, the resort hotel serves as an important escape from the weather. Guests often spend the afternoon cooling off in their room, taking a break from the parks before heading out again later in the day. That's what made this situation particularly unusual.

Instead of returning to a cool environment, some guests reportedly found themselves dealing with elevated indoor temperatures. Inside the Magic suggested certain rooms exceeded 80 degrees during the outage.
Disney reportedly worked to address the issue in multiple ways. Portable cooling units and fans were brought into portions of the resort, while maintenance teams continued efforts to restore normal operations.
There were also reports that some affected guests received compensation or were offered the option of relocating to other Walt Disney World hotels. While Disney has not publicly discussed those accommodations, the reports suggest Cast Members were working directly with guests impacted by the outage.
The cooling problems may have also affected dining availability at the resort. A notice shared online indicated that Whispering Canyon Cafe reservations were unavailable during part of the maintenance process, although other dining options remained available.

The situation comes at a time when Wilderness Lodge is already undergoing exterior refurbishment work. While Disney regularly performs maintenance projects across its resort portfolio, air conditioning outages tend to receive more attention because they directly affect the guest experience.
For now, the focus remains on whether Disney's latest maintenance efforts fully resolve the issue. Wilderness Lodge continues to be one of the most sought-after Deluxe Resorts on property, and guests staying there in the coming days will likely be hoping for a return to the cool and comfortable atmosphere the resort is known for.
