Christmas may still be months away, but Disney vacation planning rarely waits until the last minute.
Families are already making decisions about Christmas 2026, while another group of guests is beginning to turn its attention toward 2027.
If you're in that second group, there's one major change worth remembering before setting your vacation budget.
Walt Disney World tickets are getting more expensive in 2027.
In fact, Disney has already established new record prices before releasing tickets for what is typically the most expensive part of the entire year.
Magic Kingdom tickets are climbing again
Walt Disney World's date-based pricing system means admission costs can vary significantly depending on when you visit.
The increases become easier to see when comparing the same January-through-October periods in 2026 and 2027.
Magic Kingdom's peak price jumps from $199 to $219.
EPCOT moves from $194 to $214.
Disney's Hollywood Studios climbs from $199 to $209.
Disney's Animal Kingdom increases from $179 to $189.
That means a guest purchasing the most expensive Magic Kingdom ticket available for the first 10 months of 2027 will pay $20 more than the comparable 2026 maximum.
For one person, that's noticeable.
For a family buying several tickets, those increases start adding up quickly.
And that's before adding a hotel, food, transportation, Lightning Lane and everything else that comes with a Walt Disney World vacation.
The biggest 2027 increase may still be ahead
There's another reason these prices deserve attention right now.
Disney hasn't released the entire 2027 ticket calendar.
The first release stops at October 31, leaving November and December out of the equation.
That's significant because Christmas and New Year's traditionally bring some of Walt Disney World's highest ticket prices.
So while $219 is currently a record for Magic Kingdom's available 2027 dates, there's no guarantee it remains the record once December arrives.
Based on previous pricing patterns, another increase during Christmas is certainly possible.
Magic Kingdom could climb another $10 or more at the top end, while other parks could potentially see increases of around $5 to $10.
Those are projections rather than confirmed prices. Disney hasn't announced what Christmas 2027 admission will cost.
Still, it's something families should keep in mind before assuming the prices currently available represent the maximum they'll encounter next year.
Disney is keeping cheaper dates around
Interestingly, the increases aren't happening equally across the calendar.
Disney has left the lowest ticket prices unchanged in the January-through-October comparison.
Animal Kingdom continues to offer some dates at $119, while EPCOT starts at $129. Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios still have dates at $139.
Disney appears to be maintaining those cheaper entry points while charging considerably more when demand is strongest.
That makes choosing your travel dates increasingly important.
Someone visiting during a slower part of the year could potentially avoid these record-setting prices entirely.
Someone traveling at Christmas probably won't have that luxury.
Christmas travelers should prepare early
This is why the timing of these increases matters.
Families are starting to book holiday trips, and 2027 vacation planning will become increasingly common over the coming months.
Disney may also offer discounts that make some trips more affordable. We've seen the company use hotel and ticket promotions to attract guests, particularly when demand needs a boost.
But Christmas is different.
The parks don't usually have trouble attracting people during one of the biggest vacation weeks of the year.
Disney's variable pricing model allows it to charge more precisely when demand is strongest, and the 2027 calendar already shows the company is comfortable pushing peak prices higher.
For now, $219 is the number that stands out.
It represents a new peak for Magic Kingdom during the currently available portion of 2027.
Once Christmas tickets arrive, though, we may have another number to talk about.
For anyone already thinking about a 2027 Walt Disney World vacation, planning around these increases could become more important than ever.
