Disney World Unveils 9 Resort Closures That Could Disrupt 2026 Travel

It didn’t come with a big reveal, but Disney World has officially locked in a wave of resort changes for 2026. Nine closures and refurbishments are now on the schedule, affecting everything from pools to restaurants to entire resort areas. Guests who usually stay onsite might want to take a closer look before finalizing their trip.

Nothing here feels dramatic on its own. But together, these updates create a noticeable shift in how a Disney resort stay will feel this year.

These Changes Stretch Across Multiple Resorts

This isn’t just one hotel getting refreshed. The impact reaches across major names like the All-Star Resorts, the Grand Floridian, the Contemporary, and Animal Kingdom Lodge.

That wide reach means guests at every price level could run into closures. Whether you’re staying in a value or deluxe room, something nearby may be unavailable during your trip.

Bay Lake Tower Loses Key Water Features

At Bay Lake Tower, early 2026 brings one of the more noticeable changes. From January 26 through early May, the Bay Cove Pool, splash area, and whirlpool spa will all be closed.

Guests can still use the main Bay Lake Pool and the nearby Contemporary Resort pools, but reduced access could affect how they spend their downtime.

Yacht Club Dining Shifts Over Time

Dining at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort won’t disappear, but it will shift. Crew’s Cup Lounge has already closed for refurbishment and is expected back in May.

Right as it returns, Yachtsman Steakhouse will close for its own updates. That creates a staggered schedule that could limit dining options depending on your timing.

Beach Club Pool Work Continues

At Disney’s Beach Club Resort, the Tidal leisure pool remains closed through early May. Guests should also expect to see and hear construction during the day.

While the main pool areas remain open, losing one of the quieter spaces changes how guests experience the resort.

Boardwalk Changes Are Already Visible

The BoardWalk has already seen one major loss. The Promenade Fine Art Gallery closed in October 2025 and will return in a new location, though Disney hasn’t shared where.

That leaves a noticeable gap for now, especially for guests who enjoyed browsing the space.

Grand Floridian Work Extends Beyond 2026

Construction at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort continues to push forward. Work on the porte cochere will last into early 2027.

Guests staying here this year will likely encounter ongoing construction, which stands out at a resort known for its polished look.

Saratoga Springs Dining Changes in Phases

At Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort, closures will rotate throughout the year. The Turf Club Lounge closes in mid-April and reopens in early August.

During that stretch, a temporary bar with a limited menu steps in. Then the Turf Club Patio closes briefly, followed by the main restaurant from mid-August through mid-September.

Pool Closures Expand at Yacht and Beach Club

Exterior work at the Yacht and Beach Club adds another challenge. The Admiral leisure pool at Yacht Club stays closed through early May.

With the Beach Club pool also unavailable, guests will have fewer options in one of Disney’s most popular pool areas.

Jellyrolls Is Gone—for Now

Jellyrolls officially closed on April 19, 2025, after a final performance at the BoardWalk.

The venue says it’s moving, but until more details emerge, it's still absent from the resort lineup.

All-Star Sports Pool Access Is Limited

At Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort, the Surfboard Bay Pool and Kiddie Pool will both close from January through April 2026.

Guests can still use the Grand Slam Leisure Pool or visit nearby All-Star pools, but it requires a bit more effort.

Planning Matters More Than Ever

Looking at everything together, one thing stands out. Disney is actively improving its resorts, but those updates come with temporary disruptions.

For 2026 travelers, planning becomes more important than ever. Check your resort, understand what’s closed, and adjust expectations early. That way, you avoid surprises and still make the most of your trip.
