Guests stopping for coffee at Magic Kingdom may notice one menu item missing this week—not because of supply issues or operational changes, but because of bees.
The Joffrey's Revive kiosk in Tomorrowland has temporarily removed all flavored syrups and sauces as Disney works to reduce bee activity around the outdoor coffee stand. According to Kenny the Pirate, guests are being greeted by a sign that states: “Bee-Ware: Syrups and sauces are temporarily unavailable to reduce the attraction of bees to this location.”
That means visitors can still order beverages like drip coffee, cappuccinos, lattes, and cold brew, but popular flavor additions are currently off the menu. Those wanting caramel, vanilla, or similar syrups will need to visit one of Magic Kingdom's Starbucks locations instead.
While the advisory may catch some guests by surprise, it's part of a seasonal pattern that has appeared around Walt Disney World before.
Joffrey's Coffee & Tea Company supplies coffee throughout Disney's theme parks, resort hotels, and several restaurants. Many of its kiosks, including the Revive location, operate outdoors, where sweet syrups and sauces can easily attract bees.
The increase in activity also coincides with what's known among beekeepers as a “nectar dearth.” During this midsummer period, flowers produce less nectar, prompting honey bees to search for alternative sources of sugar. Outdoor coffee kiosks offering flavored syrups naturally become attractive gathering spots.
The issue has surfaced across Walt Disney World over several years, with bee activity occasionally affecting Joffrey's operations at multiple parks. In some cases, kiosks have temporarily closed or simplified their menus while cast members managed conditions around the stands.
Disney appears to be looking beyond temporary fixes. At EPCOT, several Joffrey's kiosks have already been redesigned with enclosed service areas, mesh screens, and windows that help keep bees away while allowing cast members to continue serving guests.
Those updates could eventually become the standard at additional Joffrey's locations if they continue proving successful during the busiest months for bee activity. Disney has not announced plans to expand those enclosed designs to Magic Kingdom, so the syrup suspension remains a temporary measure.
For now, guests planning to grab coffee from the Revive kiosk should expect a simplified menu featuring drip coffee, lattes, cappuccinos, and cold brew without flavored syrups or sauces.
Anyone hoping for a flavored coffee can still find those options elsewhere in Magic Kingdom at Starbucks, while Disney continues responding to the seasonal bee activity. The company has not provided a timetable for restoring the kiosk's full beverage menu.
