The Walt Disney World Resort began reopening Annual Pass sales in the early hours of Thursday, April 13, 2023, but its system was immediately hit with issues.

When Disney Parks made the announcement that all four Disney World Annual Pass options would be open to purchase, they clarified that Disney Vacation Club members would get first dibs at the second-highest tier, the Disney Sorcerer Pass. However, when DVC members jumped on this morning, many were hit with debilitating issues like the one shown below courtesy of Theme Park Insider Scott Gustin.

According to Scott, Disney said, “Some of our digital experiences are unavailable at this time. DVC Disney Sorcerer Pass sales will resume as soon as possible. We thank you for your patience and understanding.”

It is unclear how long the system was down. But internet sales appear to resume within the hour of this notice, or at least the virtual queue system to make the long-awaited purchase was back up and running. This issue was reported by several different fans, and others were quick to comment that they were the lucky ones who secured their pass within the first early morning wave. Just before 10:00 a.m., confirmation was made that “DVC Disney Sorcerer Pass sales for eligible Disney Vacation Club Members are now open.”

The Disney Sorcerer Pass, as well as the Disney Incredi-Pass, Disney Pirate Pass, and Disney Pixie Dust Pass, will all be made available to new Disney World Annual Passholder customers for the first time ever on April 20, 2023, as the last time Walt Disney World Annual Passes were on sale, it was the previous tier system before the COVID-19 lockdowns. DVC members will have between now and then to gain special access to the Disney Sorcerer Pass. But these issues resulting from the significantly smaller segment of Disney fans allude to more technical issues a week from now when the floodgates will finally be open to Disney World fans desperate to regain their status.

This update follows another round of Magic Key Pass sales opening at the Disneyland Resort.

All readers who plan to secure their Disney World Pass on April 20 should be prepared to face some technical difficulties from the overwhelmed systems.

We at Disney Fanatic will continue to update our readers on this story as more developments come to light.
