Three Popular After-Hours Events Returning to Disneyland!

For several years, Disneyland Resort has been hosting special hard-ticket events known as Disneyland After Dark. These nighttime gatherings feature various themes, rare character meet-and-greets, exclusive fireworks shows and entertainment, as well as limited-time food and merchandise offerings. The Disneyland After Dark parties have gained immense popularity, with some events selling out within hours.

Last year, Disney held four Disneyland After Dark events: Disney Channel Nite, Sweethearts' Nite, Pride Nite, and Star Wars Nite.

This year, Disneyland Resort has officially confirmed the return of three beloved nighttime events in 2025. The events, part of the Disneyland After Dark series, include Disneyland After Dark Sweethearts Nite, Star Wars Nite, and Pride Nite.

The Sweethearts Nite attracts couples and Disney fans alike, featuring romantic offerings that showcase iconic Disney couples and themed entertainment. It has become a sentimental favorite, typically held around Valentine's Day.

Star Wars Nite is another highlight, dedicated to fans of the franchise. With numerous activities, character interactions, and themed attractions, this event has grown popular for its engaging atmosphere. Following a tradition of celebrating Star Wars Day on May 4th, this event promises to deliver thrills each time it returns.

However, there is one event that will NOT be returning for Disneyland After Dark this year. Last year, was the first year for Disney Channel Nite, but it also looks like it will be the last (for now).

On the Disneyland Resort website, Pride Nite, Sweethearts' Nite, and Star Wars Nite all feature the message: “This unforgettable event has come to a close, but you can look forward to another dazzling celebration next year. Check back later for more information!”

In contrast, Disney Channel Nite states: “This special salute to beloved shows has concluded. We hope you enjoyed the festivities!”

Meanwhile, Pride Nite has proven to be a major success since its introduction in 2023, selling out quickly in its first year. Recognized for its celebration of the LGBTQ+ community, this event showcases vibrant entertainment and diverse representations, making it a cherished addition to the Disneyland After Dark lineup.

Exclusive character meet-and-greets are a significant highlight of these events. Attendees can anticipate encounters with beloved characters in rare outfits or settings, enhancing the magical experience.

Themed food and merchandise are also a staple of the Disneyland After Dark events. Attendees can indulge in unique culinary offerings that align with the events' themes, and special merchandise becomes available, making it a must-have for fans.

Disney has yet to announce the replacement for Disney Channel Nite, but another themed night is expected. Past Disneyland After Dark events have included Villains Nite, Pixar Nite, Throwback Nite, 80s Nite, and 90s Nite.

While bringing back Pixar Nite seems unlikely due to the recent Pixar Fest held at the Resort — featuring rare character meet-and-greets including Bruno and Luca from Luca (2021), Ian and Barley from Onward (2020), Wade and Ember from Elemental (2023), and Russell and Dug from Up (2009)—there are still many possibilities for new themes.

Villains Nite has been particularly popular, and fans are eager for its return. Disney might find that 2025 is the perfect opportunity for this, especially following the announcement of a villain-themed land at Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World Resort.

The 2024 Disneyland After Dark events were announced in early December 2023, with tickets for select events going on sale about a week later.

The pre-party mix-in generally starts at 6 p.m. each night, while the private events run from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. No theme park reservations are required for these separately ticketed events, and parking is not included.
