Summer is one of the busiest times of the year at Disneyland Resort, which is why attraction reopenings often generate plenty of excitement among visitors.
That's exactly what happened with Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind at Disney California Adventure.

The Pixar-themed attraction has been closed since February for refurbishment, and Disney had previously indicated that guests would be able to ride again beginning June 18. But as opening day arrived, it became clear the attraction wasn't quite ready to welcome visitors back.
Disney has now delayed the reopening until June 19, extending the closure by at least one additional day.
For many guests, the delay may not seem significant. However, travelers visiting for only a day or two often build their plans around attraction schedules. When a ride is expected to reopen and then remains closed, it can have a noticeable impact on vacation plans.
Fortunately, signs around Pixar Pier suggest the project is nearing completion.
Construction walls that had been surrounding portions of the attraction have already come down, restoring normal views of the ride area. Guests walking through Pixar Pier can once again see the attraction's colorful structures and themed elements.

At the same time, crews were reportedly spotted continuing work on the attraction during the day on June 18. That activity likely contributed to Disney's decision to postpone the reopening rather than rush the ride back into service.
Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind takes inspiration from Riley's emotional headquarters from Pixar's Inside Out (2015). Guests board one of eight uniquely themed Memory Movers before spinning around colorful memory shelves packed with glowing recollections and imaginative details from the film's universe.

The attraction may be relatively small compared to some of Disney California Adventure‘s larger rides, but it plays an important role in Pixar Pier's attraction lineup. Its family-friendly nature makes it accessible to a broad audience, and its colorful visuals continue to resonate with fans of the movie franchise.
At this point, the delay appears to be short-term rather than a sign of larger issues. Disney's calendar currently lists June 19 as the reopening date, which means guests may only need a little more patience before the attraction returns to operation.
After being closed for more than four months, Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind seems to be entering its final stretch before reopening. The refurbishment may have taken longer than some guests expected, but Pixar Pier's spinning memory adventure looks poised to welcome riders back very soon.
