If it feels like Disneyland has had more rides closed than open at times this year, you’re not imagining it. Between refurbishments and temporary shutdowns, parts of the resort haven’t felt quite as full as usual. But now, things are starting to shift back in the other direction.
This month marks an important turning point, with multiple attractions reopening and helping restore some balance to both parks.
April Brings a Big Boost
April is doing a lot of the heavy lifting here.
On April 24, Toy Story Midway Mania returns to Pixar Pier. This is one of the most replayable attractions in the resort, and it’s a huge crowd-eater. When it’s open, it keeps guests busy and helps spread people out across the park.
That same day, Jungle Cruise reopens in Disneyland Park. That’s a major addition back into the lineup, especially for Adventureland. The ride consistently pulls in crowds throughout the day, and without it, the area tends to feel more congested.
Getting both of these rides back at the same time is going to make a noticeable difference right away.
May Adds Another Piece
Just when things start to feel more complete, another attraction returns.
Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind is scheduled to reopen on May 31 at Pixar Pier. While it’s not a headliner, it’s a great option for families and anyone looking for a calmer ride experience. It also helps round out the area, giving guests more variety instead of everything being focused on the bigger attractions.
By the time this ride reopens, Pixar Pier should feel much closer to normal again.
Not Everything Is Ready Yet
Even with these additions, there are still a few rides missing from the lineup.
Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters, Roger Rabbit’s Car Toon Spin, and the Disneyland Monorail remain closed for now, with no reopening dates announced. Silly Symphony Swings is also set to close on April 27, which adds another temporary gap.
So while the parks are improving, it’s still a bit of a transition period.
Why This Month Matters
This wave of reopenings is happening at a really important time.
As Disneyland moves toward summer, crowds are only going to increase. Having more attractions available helps keep wait times from getting out of control and makes the overall experience smoother for guests.
