Disney Cancels Exclusive Event Experience After Guests Wait for More Than an Hour

Disney Guests were recently incredibly upset with a Disney Park for canceling a special ticketed event after they had waited for hours.

One of the best parts of a Disney vacation (if your budget allows for it) is going to some of the wonderful “After Dark” or “After Hours” events that Disney has available for fans to enjoy and partake in. At the Disneyland Resort in Southern California, Disneyland After Dark includes events like Sweethearts’ Nite and Princess Nite; Walt Disney World Resort in Central Florida also has its version—Disney After Hours.

Of course, these won’t always go down well, and sometimes extraneous events or circumstances can cause things to go awry, and that’s precisely what happened recently. Recently, fans discovered that a fan-favorite offering of Sweethearts’ Nite was canceled.

TikTok user and Disney Guest @92_Brandon shared that they waited over an hour for the fireworks at the Disneyland After Dark event Sweethearts’ Nite at Disneyland Park just for Cast Members to announce it was canceled at the Park.

Fans in the comments were very sympathetic to the OP, though many also shared why the fireworks for Sweethearts’ Nite being canceled made sense.

@DeziArenas93 pointed out that it seemed pretty windy in the video, so it made sense that Disney would cancel it since that could result in a fire. Another fan similarly concurred that while it was indeed disappointing, it was for Guests’ safety.

Another user, @Collin, was more concerned with the cancelation and compensation afforded to Guests. He shared, “What? Even during ticketed events? Crazy! They should offer a small compensation for all that money they paid for the event.”

The OP responded humorously to this comment suggesting “free churros for everyone.”
