Disneyland Holiday Alert: High-Demand Character Dining Reservations Now Live

Disneyland Resort is getting ready for the Christmas season, and families planning a holiday visit have another reason to start organizing their vacations now.

Beyond the decorations, seasonal attractions, and festive entertainment, Disney is offering several special dining experiences that allow guests to celebrate the holidays with their favorite characters.

These meals only return for a limited time, and some of the most popular holiday dates could become difficult to book.

For visitors hoping to make Thanksgiving or Christmas a little more memorable, waiting until the last minute could mean missing an experience they had hoped to enjoy.

Disneyland Brings Back Special Holiday Character Dining

One of Disneyland Resort's most popular character dining locations is preparing to welcome guests for another festive celebration.

Goofy's Kitchen, located inside Disneyland Hotel, will host Goofy's Kitchen Celebrates the Holidays from November 16, 2026, through January 3, 2027.

During this seasonal experience, Goofy and his Disney friends greet families while wearing special holiday outfits.

Guests can enjoy a buffet-style meal while interacting with familiar characters, making the restaurant an appealing option for families traveling with younger children.

Instead of spending time searching for individual character appearances throughout the parks, visitors can enjoy several Disney interactions during their meal.

The restaurant will also offer special holiday dining experiences on Thanksgiving, November 26, and Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, December 24 and 25.

These dates could attract considerable interest from families spending their holidays at Disneyland, making early reservations especially important.

Two More Christmas Experiences Arrive at Another Disney Hotel

Goofy's Kitchen isn't the only restaurant preparing something special.

At Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa, Storytellers Cafe will offer two different seasonal character dining experiences from November 16, 2026, through January 3, 2027.

Families looking for a cheerful morning can enjoy Daisy's Holiday Pajama Party, a breakfast-and-brunch experience featuring Daisy Duck and her Disney friends.

Guests can even wear pajamas to the restaurant while enjoying a festive buffet and character appearances.

Later in the day, Storytellers Cafe welcomes visitors for Mickey's Christmas Carol Feast.

Inspired by Mickey's Christmas Carol (1983), this evening character dining experience combines familiar Disney characters with a Christmas-themed meal.

The restaurant will also offer Thanksgiving brunch and dinner on November 26, along with special Christmas dining on December 24 and 25.

With different experiences available throughout the day, guests should carefully review their reservations to make sure they select the celebration they actually want.

Disney Guests Should Make Reservations Now

Although the holiday dining experiences won't begin until November 16, reservations are already open.

Guests interested in attending should visit Disneyland Resort's official website or use the Disneyland mobile app to search for available tables.

After selecting Goofy's Kitchen or Storytellers Cafe, visitors can enter their preferred date, party size, and dining time.

Disneyland generally allows dining reservations up to 60 days in advance, although special seasonal offerings sometimes operate under different booking schedules.

Availability may become more limited as Thanksgiving and Christmas approach, especially for families hoping to dine on specific holidays.

Guests who cannot find their preferred reservation should consider checking again later. Cancellations sometimes create additional opportunities to book.

Disneyland's Christmas Celebration Extends Beyond Dining

Of course, guests won't have to visit a restaurant to enjoy Disneyland's holiday atmosphere.

Disneyland Resort's holiday season runs from November 13, 2026, through January 6, 2027, with seasonal attractions, entertainment, and decorations throughout the destination.

At Disneyland Park, “it's a small world” Holiday brings festive decorations and music to the classic boat ride.

Haunted Mansion Holiday also welcomes Jack Skellington and characters from The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993).

Sleeping Beauty Castle adds another festive centerpiece with its holiday lighting.

Meanwhile, Disney California Adventure celebrates with Disney Festival of Holidays, featuring seasonal food, music, and entertainment inspired by different traditions.

Cars Land also joins the celebration with Christmas decorations and seasonal attraction transformations.

Why Planning Ahead Matters This Christmas

Disneyland offers plenty of ways to celebrate the holidays, but character dining requires a little extra preparation.

Unlike attractions guests can experience during their park visits, these meals require reservations.

Families hoping to enjoy a festive meal with Goofy, Daisy, Mickey, or other Disney favorites should secure their plans early.

With these experiences available for a limited time, making reservations now could help prevent disappointment during a busy holiday vacation.
