Disneyland Resort guests recently noticed something unusual about the parking situation at the Southern California theme parks.
For years, guests have had several parking options when arriving at Disneyland Resort via car. The Mickey & Friends and Pixar Pals Parking Structures are the most popular, offering several levels of parking within walking distance (or a short tram ride) from Disneyland Park, Disney California Adventure Park, and the Downtown Disney District. A few miles down the road, the Toy Story Parking Area provides a large lot with free shuttle service to the Disney parks.
Parking at Disneyland Resort costs $35 per car or motorcycle, with oversized vehicles being charged $45 with a trailer and $40 without one (only at the Toy Story Parking Area). Preferred parking is also available at all three locations, priced at $55 per vehicle, subject to availability. But now, Disneyland Resort guests arriving by car are seeing a slightly different experience.
On Tuesday, WDWNT reported that construction walls had been placed around a significant section of the top floor of the Mickey & Friends Parking Structure. Disney cast members are reportedly directing vehicles down the row nearest to the wall in the opposite direction of the arrows on the ground. The temporary walls are covered with scrim to block whatever is happening behind them.
Though Disneyland Resort has not provided specific details about the construction, this may be part of routine maintenance or a new project on the roof of the Mickey & Friends parking structure. It’s worth noting that a car fire in the Pixar Pals Parking Structure in April caused part of that garage to be blocked temporarily, but the construction walls at Mickey & Friends are unlikely to be related to that fire.

As of now, it’s unclear how long the construction walls will remain in place or when the affected areas of the Mickey & Friends Parking Structure will be available again.
