Disney’s Struggling Christmas Party Just Got a Major Sweetener

Disney’s least popular holiday event might finally be getting the boost it needs. Disney Jollywood Nights has had a tough time winning fans over since its debut, and this year isn’t looking much better. While Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is known for selling out well before the season ends, Jollywood Nights has sold out just one date so far — opening night. But Disney isn’t giving up. In fact, the company just added a festive incentive to get more guests in the door.

A Holiday Party That’s Struggled to Find Its Spark

Jollywood Nights was meant to be a stylish alternative to the more classic Christmas celebration at Disney's Hollywood Studios. Themed after golden-age Hollywood glamour, it promised music, exclusive entertainment, and elegant treats. But despite the glitz, many guests have felt something was missing.

The debut season received mixed reviews, with some calling it “beautiful but thin” in terms of offerings. That lukewarm first impression hasn’t been easy to shake off — and the slow ticket sales prove it.

Disney Pulls a Classic Holiday Move

To sweeten the deal, Disney has announced that all Jollywood Nights attendees will receive a complimentary holiday ornament at the end of the night. The ornament features Mickey and Minnie above a film reel frame, along with the Jollywood Nights logo and a “2025” tag — making it a collectible exclusive to the event.

It’s a simple addition, but Disney knows its fans well. A free, event-exclusive item is exactly the kind of thing that creates a sense of value — especially for guests who are on the fence.

Why This Matters

For an event that’s struggled to find its footing, this new perk is a smart way to build goodwill without overhauling the entire experience. Jollywood Nights doesn’t have the decades of tradition that Mickey’s Christmas Party does, so creating small, special touches can go a long way in building loyalty.

Disney has used similar tactics before with great success, turning what might seem like a small gesture into something guests eagerly talk about.

Jollywood Nights Still Has a Chance

Jollywood Nights is still a fairly new event, which means there’s room for growth. Adding exclusive perks like the ornament could help it stand out, especially as Disney looks for ways to strengthen its holiday lineup.

Will it be enough to boost ticket sales overnight? Probably not. But it does send a clear message: Disney isn’t ready to let this party fade into the background. And who knows — with a few more sweeteners like this, Jollywood Nights might finally find the magic it’s been missing.
