Major Updates Coming to Jollywood Nights as Ticket Sales Lag

Jollywood Nights is getting a serious glow-up — and not just because of twinkling lights. After another round of sluggish ticket sales, Disney is pulling out all the stops to make this holiday event at Walt Disney World Resort more appealing to guests.

Why Disney’s Betting Big on Jollywood Nights

This party was always meant to be something special. Instead of replicating Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, Disney tried to give Hollywood Studios its own identity — a retro, glamorous holiday celebration filled with unique food, shows, and character experiences.

But the numbers don’t lie: only four nights sold out last year, and just one night has sold out so far this year. That kind of performance isn’t exactly the kind of Christmas magic Disney likes to see.

A New Character Lineup Aims to Draw Fans

Disney knows how much character interactions can shape an event, so it’s beefing up the lineup in 2025. Bing Bong from Inside Out is making his first park appearance, Partysaurus Rex will be partying in Toy Story Land, Chewbacca will greet guests in his Life Day outfit, and Miguel from Coco is joining the festivities.

Add Mickey, Minnie, Stitch, Edna Mode, and others to the mix, and it’s a far more robust character slate than before.

More Time, More Entertainment

Guests will get earlier access this year — 5:30 p.m. to be exact — and more entertainment options. Disney is premiering two new shows: The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure and Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After. Returning favorites like the skating spectacular Glisten! and The Nightmare Before Christmas sing-along are also part of the plan.

It’s clear Disney wants to make the night feel fuller, more eventful, and worth the price tag.

Will It Be Enough?

Jollywood Nights has yet to find its place in the crowded holiday lineup. Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party consistently dominates the season, leaving Jollywood to fight for attention.

This year, Disney is stacking the deck with new experiences, longer hours, and fan-favorite characters. Whether that’s enough to change the sales trajectory is the big question. If the numbers don’t improve, this event could face some tough decisions in the years ahead.

For now, fans can expect a more festive — and more ambitious — Jollywood Nights experience.

A frequent visitor of Walt Disney World Resort and Universal Orlando Resort, Andrew will likely be found freefalling on Twilight Zone Tower of Terror or enjoying Pirates of the Caribbean. Over at Universal, he'll be taking in the thrills of the Jurassic World Velocicoaster and Revenge of the Mummy
