Toy Story Land Closures Finally Make Sense After Disney’s Latest Reveal

Those construction walls in Toy Story Land haven’t exactly gone unnoticed. For weeks, guests have been scratching their heads, wondering why a prime entrance area was suddenly blocked off. Now, Disney has revealed what’s really been going on behind the scenes, and it turns out those closures weren’t for a ride overhaul at all.

Toy Story Land, one of the busiest areas of Disney's Hollywood Studios, has seen its fair share of updates in recent years. From new dining spaces to operational tweaks, Disney has consistently found ways to enhance the area without major fanfare. But construction walls always lead to theories—everything from character meet-and-greets to rumored expansions has been tossed around online.

Well, now the mystery is solved. The closures are tied to a brand-new popcorn kiosk, and the structure is already taking shape. It’s styled like a giant popcorn box, with big red-and-white stripes, playful lettering, and a fun, hand-drawn “and snacks” note on the front.

A Land Getting a Little Sweeter

The kiosk is positioned near the entrance, in the same spot where a Toy Story Land sign once stood. The sign’s removal wasn’t random—it was to clear the way for this playful new addition. One side of the structure even mimics the top of a popcorn container with faux kernels spilling out. It’s exactly the kind of whimsical design detail that fits the land’s oversized toy aesthetic.

A Practical Update

On the surface, a popcorn stand might not sound like a major change, but for a land as busy as this one, it can make a real difference. With crowds constantly flowing in and out, adding another snack location helps ease congestion elsewhere and shortens lines at existing kiosks. Guests now have more choices for a quick bite between rides.

Looking Ahead

The kiosk doesn’t have an official opening date yet, but with the structure already in place, it’s expected to debut soon. The update may not involve a new ride or show, but it’s a smart, guest-friendly improvement. And honestly, who’s going to say no to more popcorn?

So, the next time someone wonders why those walls went up, the answer’s simple: Disney was quietly making Toy Story Land a little more delicious.
