Disney Quietly Fixes Toy Story Land’s Biggest Problem—Here’s What’s Coming Next

Disney fans expecting only grand-scale projects might overlook the value of smaller updates, but Walt Disney World is reminding everyone that details matter. At Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Toy Story Land is preparing to welcome a brand-new snack kiosk, according to a recently filed permit.

The paperwork mentions “install set elements,” which signals Imagineers are once again prioritizing design. This isn’t going to be just any food cart—it’s set to be another storytelling piece inside Andy’s backyard. Contractors like Mecca Productions are involved, suggesting a blend of creative and construction efforts to bring the project to life.

Fixing Toy Story Land’s Food Shortage

Toy Story Land has been a hit since its 2018 opening, but food has been a sore spot. Woody’s Lunch Box, beloved for its nostalgia-driven menu, has consistently faced overwhelming demand. Long waits and cramped seating often leave guests searching for alternatives that simply aren’t there.

That’s where the new kiosk comes in. Positioned near the restrooms and close to the walkway leading to Galaxy’s Edge, it’s strategically located to catch hungry families passing through. If the stand introduces fun, themed menu items, it could not only ease congestion but also enhance the land’s playful spirit.

A Park in Motion

Hollywood Studios is no stranger to change. In the last decade, it has seen major expansions like Galaxy’s Edge, but Disney hasn’t stopped refining the smaller details either. Adding shaded dining, interactive meet-and-greets, and now a themed kiosk shows a commitment to improving the guest experience at every level.

In a park that thrives on immersive “mini-worlds,” even a snack stand can help tie everything together. Placed between Toy Story Land and Galaxy’s Edge, the kiosk also serves as a subtle bridge between two highly themed areas.

Tomorrowland’s Updated Cool Ship

The updates don’t stop at Hollywood Studios. Over in Magic Kingdom, the Cool Ship kiosk has re-emerged after months of refurbishment. Once marked by its bold red spaceship and misting fans, the refreshed version now leans into sleek mid-century modern curves. Fans have compared it to the famous Theme Building in Los Angeles, reinforcing Tomorrowland’s new retro-futuristic vision.

Though the misting feature is gone, the redesign ensures that even small structures align with Tomorrowland’s overall aesthetic. It’s less about novelty and more about cohesion moving forward.

Why Guests Should Care

Rides may headline Disney’s updates, but small details define how a park feels day-to-day. A new kiosk in Toy Story Land might not sound revolutionary, yet it addresses a real guest need and deepens the storytelling. A redesigned Cool Ship might seem cosmetic, but it keeps Tomorrowland visually fresh for the future.

Together, these changes highlight Disney’s ongoing philosophy: every corner of the park matters. Whether you’re boarding a groundbreaking attraction or grabbing a quick snack, the goal is the same—immerse guests in the magic.

Andrew Boardwine

A frequent visitor of Walt Disney World Resort and Universal Orlando Resort, Andrew will likely be found freefalling on Twilight Zone Tower of Terror or enjoying Pirates of the Caribbean. Over at Universal, he'll be taking in the thrills of the Jurassic World Velocicoaster and Revenge of the Mummy
