“We Shall Put You to Work Immediately”: Fan Details Surreal Experience at Magic Kingdom

It’s always wonderful to go to the Disney Parks, whether Walt Disney World Resort or the Disneyland Resort. From rides and attractions like Space Mountain and Jungle Cruise at Magic Kingdom Park and Disneyland Park, and shows like “Fantasmic!” at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. There’s nowhere in the world quite like a Disney Park. And sometimes, being at a Disney Theme Park can exceed your wildest dreams.

The Haunted Mansion is one of the most beloved attractions at any Disney Park. The seed for Haunted Mansion was planted in the 1950s though the attraction only truly began to take shape in the 60s. One of the key figures involved in the development of the Haunted Mansion was Walt Disney Imagineer Rolly Crump, who worked on the initial concept and design for the ride. The Haunted Mansion officially opened at Disneyland in 1969 and was an immediate hit with visitors. It was later added to other Disney Theme Parks around the world, including Walt Disney World in Florida, Tokyo Disneyland, and Disneyland Paris.

In the Haunted Mansion, Guests can “Climb aboard a gloomy Doom Buggy for a grave journey through a labyrinth of haunted chambers.”

The attraction is so beloved it has a massive fan following. And fans adore when they have the chance to experience the ride. Recently one lucky fan got a Disney experience at the Haunted Mansion like no other.

Reby Hardy, mother of internet sensation Gothic Baby and a self-proclaimed “huge fan of Haunted Mansion,” took her child to Walt Disney World Resort for the child’s first-ever visit. As Hardy details in the video, she wanted the first time to be special and dressed her baby up as one of the mansion maids.

Cast Members, on seeing the child’s outfit, were immediately enthralled and let the family in through a private entrance and gave them one of the most surreal experiences the duo had ever had.

The entire interaction brought Hardy to tears, who also joked during the video that she got new ideas for home decor from her visit. (Hardy had clarified earlier in the video that the family is such huge Haunted Mansion fans they have their own stretching room.)

It’s truly moments and experiences like this that make the Disney magic what it is for so many, and it was so lovely to see this wonderful account of a Walt Disney World vacation!
