Disney also recently held the 2020 Cast Member Service Celebration at the Magic Kingdom, as the previous year’s event was also postponed first due to restrictions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and later due to weather. The 2020 event featured musical segments from past Magic Kingdom fireworks shows like ‘Happily Ever After,’ and ‘Wishes,’ so Cast Members in attendance at this weekend’s event are surely in for some magical memories at the park.

In order to host the event just for Cast Members, the Magic Kingdom will close at 4:30 pm to day Guests this Sunday, May 15.

If you do have a trip to Walt Disney World planned for this Sunday, as of this writing reservations are still available at all four theme parks, and with the early closure, it could actually be a great day to visit the Magic Kingdom. Typically when there is a special event that closes a park early, fewer Guests plan to use a ticket to go to that park and you could find yourself with surprisingly small crowds and short wait times if you decide to go.

The Cast Member service celebration is an exciting event for Cast who have reached this milestone in their Disney careers, and we hope they have a magical time at their special event- they have definitely earned it!
