May is Military Appreciation Month in the United States of America, which includes Military Spouse Appreciation Day (which is today, May 6), and is capped off with Memorial Day weekend (which also unofficially kicks off Summer).
In honor of the occasion, Disney Parks Blog shared the story of one Cast Member, Lindsey, who is the proud wife of an Air Force Pilot (who just graduated from training in South Carolina) and has worked remotely with The Walt Disney Company while her husband was moved around the country.
Lindsey’s husband is a pilot in the U.S. Air Force Reserves, having an active career from 2005 to 2018… Lindsey had been part of Disney since 1998 working in various roles but that changed in 2008 when she began a remote career with The Walt Disney Company while her husband had just graduated from pilot training stationed at Charleston Air Force Base in South Carolina.
“Long before telecommuting was an option, Disney offered remote positions,” Lindsey said. “This allowed me to have a career, while also supporting my husband’s military career and moving with my family without having to stress about finding a new opportunity for work each time. Having the support of Disney has given me an amazing career for over a decade. I really appreciate the support the company provides to military families like mine.”

Lindsey is only one of the scores of Cast Members and Disney company employees who have some affiliation with the U.S. Armed Forces, whether it is through marriage, their family tree, or previous service history.
We at Disney Fanatic salute all of the brave men and women who continue to defend our nation and the free world as well as their supportive family members like Lindsey who continue to make magic happen on the homefront.
