Encanto fans, get ready! The 94th Academy Awards are coming up on Sunday, March 27 live from the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, and even though we already knew that the smash-hit original song “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” from Encanto was being performed, we now know that some of the cast members from the movie will be reprising their roles for the performance — and some famous Latin pop stars will be joining in, too!
Singer Adassa (who voiced Dolores Madrigal in the Madrigal family), actress Stephanie Beatriz (who voiced Mirabel Madrigal), Mauro Castillo (who voiced Felix Madrigal), Carolina Gaitán (who voiced Pepa Madrigal), and Diane Guerrero (who voiced Isabela Madrigal) will all be performing their respective parts during the live performance of “We Don’t Talk About Bruno”.
Even though “We Don’t Talk Bruno” broke Billboard records, even surpassing the success of “Let It Go” and “A Whole New World”, the song was not actually nominated for the Oscar for Best Original Song. Instead, composer Lin-Manuel Miranda nominated the Encanto original song “Dos Oruguitas”, saying that it represented the overall theme of the Disney animated movie better than the catchy song about Bruno did.
The Madrigal family: Luisa (voiced by Jessica Darrow), Isabela (voiced by Diane Guerrero), the matriarch Abuela Alma (voiced by MarĂa Cecilia Botero), Felix (voiceded by Mauro Castillo), Julieta (voiced by Angie Cepeda), Pepa (voiced by Carolina Gaitán), AgustĂn (voiced by Wilmer Valderrama), Camilo (voiced by Rhenzy Feliz), Antonio (voiced by Ravi Cabot-Conyers), and Dolores (voiced by Adassa) and Mirabel Madrigal (voiced by Stephanie Beatriz). The Encanto cast will be joined by popular Latin singer Becky G and “Despacito” singer Luis Fonsi, too! This is no doubt to make up for the fact that many other cast members from Encanto and the Madrigal family were not able to join in the Academy Awards performance. With only Felix providing male vocals, some more variety was probably needed (especially since “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” features some standout harmonies and rounds)!

Encanto is nominated for an Oscar in two categories at the 94th Academy Awards in Los Angeles: Best Animated Feature Film (which it is competing against Raya and the Last Dragon and Luca to win) and Best Original Song (for “Dos Oruguitas”).
