Disney’s Tree of Life Theater at Animal Kingdom features a new headline show, Zootopia: Better Zoogether!, which premiered on November 7, 2025. This 4D attraction takes the place of the 20-year run of It’s Tough to Be a Bug!, transitioning from an insect-centered story to a citywide celebration in Zootopia called Zoogether Day.
The performance is designed as a watch party, hosted by a new character named Heidi Howler, a wolf who guides guests through three unique acts across the city’s various biomes. Audiences experience the show with 3D CarrotVision glasses while the theater employs moving seats, air blasts, water, bubbles, smoke, and scent cues to create an immersive environment. The finale recreates Gazelle’s song “Try Everything,” recalling a fan-favorite moment from the film.

One of the key features of the show is Officer Clawhauser, an animatronic figure intended to enhance the physical presence on stage. On November 23, the animatronic malfunctioned, and Clawhauser appeared instead via a satellite drone, which seems to be a backup mode. While the performance continued, the absence of the animatronic drew attention from guests and sparked concern about the attraction’s early reliability.
Kenny the Pirate reported that guests were evacuated from the line, resulting in a temporary closure of approximately 30 minutes. The My Disney Experience app showed the attraction as unavailable, and guests affected by the closure were provided with Multiple Experience passes for select other attractions.

Outside the theater, visitors can now meet Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde, sporting new outfits inspired by the upcoming Zootopia 2 (2025), tying the attraction closely to the franchise’s next installment. Feedback has been mixed: some appreciate the visuals and pacing, while others feel the narrative is more a collection of moments rather than a unified story. The show may not align as clearly with Animal Kingdom’s conservation themes.
Zootopia: Better Zoogether! represents a new chapter for the Tree of Life, aiming to integrate celebration, spectacle, and the Zootopia franchise into the park experience. Its reception among longtime visitors will unfold over time.
