Every Upcoming ‘Star Wars’ Project Explained

Disney+ is gearing up for a wave of new Star Wars shows, with five separate projects releasing across this year and the next. Add two theatrical releases on top of that, and the galaxy far, far away looks set for another busy stretch.

The lineup kicks off September 19 with LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy – Pieces of the Past. Picking up where the previous LEGO miniseries left off, Sig Greebling tries to repair the Multiverse, bringing fan-favorite chaos and new threats like Darth Solitus.

Just weeks later, Star Wars: Visions Volume 3 will deliver nine more anime shorts on October 29. The anime anthology has never tied itself to canon, but this round is adding direct sequels to earlier favorites: “The Duel”, “The Village Bride”, and “The Ninth Jedi”.

Visions fans can expect even more anime action as a spinoff banner titled Star Wars: Visions Presents is underway, with The Ninth Jedi leading the way as a full series in 2026. Lucasfilm hasn’t revealed the next projects under that label, but fans are already hoping for a continuation of “Lop and Ocho”.

Two other shows are deep in development. Ahsoka Season 2 will continue the story of Rosario Dawson’s Jedi alongside Ezra Bridger and Sabine Wren, though it isn’t expected to arrive until 2026. That same year, Maul – Shadow Lord will put the spotlight on Sam Witwer’s Sith survivor, animated in the style of The Clone Wars and The Bad Batch.

On the film side, the big-screen slate is finally moving forward again. Jon Favreau’s The Mandalorian & Grogu arrives in May, 2026, bringing Pedro Pascal and Grogu to theaters for the first time, joined by Sigourney Weaver and Jeremy Allen White.

Then in May, 2027, Star Wars: Starfighter, directed by Shawn Levy (Deadpool & Wolverine) and starring Ryan Gosling in a post-Rise of Skywalker story, will arrive in theaters.

Whether you prefer LEGO antics, anime experiments, or live-action blockbusters, Star Wars is about to spread itself across nearly every format imaginable.
