Disneyland Closes Theme Park Location After Popcorn Cart Catches Fire

A small fire in a Central Plaza snack kiosk has temporarily taken one of Disneyland Paris Resort's popcorn stands offline. The unfortunate timing adds yet another disruption to an area of Disneyland Park already deep in construction season.

X user @PixiedustDLP shared a photo on June 8 of a shuttered popcorn-and-snack kiosk in the Central Plaza area of Disneyland Park in Paris, explaining the closure on the platform formerly known as Twitter:

Disneyland Paris Resort has not issued any statement about the incident, leaving the exact timing and circumstances of the fire unclear. Based on what's visible, the damage appears minor and confined to the equipment inside the kiosk. The location sits near Sleeping Beauty Castle, putting it squarely in one of the European Disney park‘s most trafficked areas.

A Corner of the Park Already Under Pressure

The popcorn kiosk closure lands in a part of Disneyland Park that has been navigating construction disruption for months. The bridge to Sleeping Beauty Castle has been closed for refurbishment since early May, with guests redirected to alternate pathways to reach the castle walkthrough and La Tanière du Dragon — The Lair of the Dragon. That project is expected to run through late September 2026.

Additional construction walls have also appeared in the Central Plaza area in recent months as crews work on pavement and other structural elements nearby. Disneyland Paris Resort hasn't commented on those projects, and they appear to be unrelated to Monday's popcorn cart fire.
