Work is well underway on Universal Orlando Resort’s newest theme park, Epic Universe. Scheduled to open in the summer of 2025, fans are anxiously awaiting. A new video revealed another significant milestone this week regarding one highly anticipated ride that will make Epic Universe home.
How to Train Your Dragon Ride
Epic Universe will include a section dedicated to the How to Train Your Train (2010) franchise. A new video shows one of the rides for this park section being tested.

The new ride will have guests flying on the back of their own dragon, just like in the movie.
Including this franchise in the new theme park shows that Universal Parks and Resorts is consciously providing more family-friendly experiences in their parks. Although it surprised some that Universal decided to include this specific franchise in the park as one of DreamWorks’ most successful series, we shouldn’t be shocked.
Universal’s Epic Universe
Along with a land focused on How to Train Your Dragon, we know Super Nintendo World will be part of the new theme park. Both Japan and California have seen enormous success when it comes to Super Nintendo Land in their respective parks. We expect the same when it opens in Florida as part of Universal Epic Universe.
We also know a new Harry Potter-themed area will be part of the new theme park. Another highly anticipated land will be Dark Universe, which is part of what is being called Universal Monsters land. Although Universal has been quiet on this land, we have previously seen aerial coverage of the portal that will be part of the Dark Universe.

Fans are anxiously awaiting the opening of this new theme park in 2025. As plans and details are slowly discovered, we learn that this land will be epic! Epic Universe is going fantastic, from the theme that will transform fans into new worlds to exciting rides and attractions.
