In early 2020, billions of people around the world were told to stay indoors as the COVID-19 pandemic spread rapidly, killing millions of people in its wake. During that time, ABC created a new series — Pandemic: What You Need to Know — hosted by news anchor Amy Robach. The show later became GMA3: What You Need to Know, and fellow news anchor T.J. Holmes was brought on to host alongside Robach.
The duo quickly became fan favorites. Their on-air chemistry was undeniable, and they remained the hosts of GMA3 until December 2022. It was then that everything fell apart.

It was right before Christmas that year when photos of Holmes and Robach made the front page. The photos clearly showed them engaging in affectionate behavior. The problem? They were both married at the time — Robach to actor Andrew Shue and Holmes to lawyer Marilee Fiebig. Not long after the photos came out, Robach and Holmes confirmed their relationship but said that they were both separated from their spouses before anything romantic happened.
Both Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes were suspended pending an internal investigation by ABC News. Just one month later, ABC announced that the pair had been fired and would not be returning to their popular show.

Despite the public backlash and the trouble with their Good Morning America costars, the couple has remained together, and in December 2023, launched their podcast Amy & TJ. Throughout the various episodes, the couple talked about how tough those first months together were. T.J. Holmes admitted that he was in a very dark place, and Amy said that she was worried he was going to hurt himself.
The couple has said that they are now on the other side of the darkness and are happy living their lives together. Will they get married? Well, they haven’t said it’s something they are set on, but it’s not an idea they are completely cutting out.

However, it now seems that there may be some trouble in paradise.
According to sources who spoke to In Touch, the couple’s “honeymoon period” is over, and they appear to spend more time fighting than getting along.
“The honeymoon period is definitely over between them,” spills the first source. “They spend more time fighting than anything else!”
A second insider confirms the drama and tells In Touch, “They bicker a lot more and the days of them not being able to keep their hands off each other are long gone.”
According to the sources, the couple is dismayed to find their torrid romance was built on the quicksand of lust — not love — and they do not expect it to last!

While the couple knew that there would be backlash to their romance, they allegedly did not expect things to get as bad as they did. The first source said that Robach and Holmes thought the public would see them as star-crossed lovers who were destined to be together. Unfortunately, they are instead seen as “sleazy cheaters.”
Despite the constant fighting, the couple says that they remain dedicated to each other. They recently admitted on a recent episode of their podcast that their relationship took a backseat to their work. They realized that they needed to put effort into their relationship if they wanted to see it go the distance.
