EPCOT is usually the park where guests expect a slower pace. People stroll through World Showcase, grab snacks, take photos, and enjoy the atmosphere without the frantic energy you normally see at Magic Kingdom.
But Frozen Ever After doesn’t follow EPCOT’s rules.
And this week, the attraction proved it again in a way that caught guests completely off guard.
Early in the morning, before the park had even fully opened, guests were already reporting massive Frozen crowds near Norway. While Frozen Ever After is known for pulling long waits, the size of the crowd was far beyond what most people expect that early in the day.
A post shared on X by RockNstardust showed the situation clearly. The Frozen meet-and-greet line was already forming heavily on one side, while the Frozen Ever After queue on the other side had stretched so far that it extended into the direction of the China Pavilion. Even more surprising, the post noted that Frozen Ever After hadn’t even opened yet.

That’s the kind of moment that makes guests instantly rethink their plans. If the line is already that massive before the ride starts running, there’s a strong chance the wait time is going to skyrocket once the attraction officially opens and the rest of the park crowd arrives.
The Norway Pavilion is one of EPCOT’s most popular spots, but it’s also one of the most cramped. The layout isn’t designed for huge standby queues spilling into the main pathways. When Frozen crowds get out of control, it creates a bottleneck that can back up foot traffic through World Showcase.
Guests who aren’t even interested in Frozen still end up dealing with the consequences. It becomes harder to walk through Norway, harder to navigate around strollers, and harder to reach nearby dining and pavilion areas without weaving through the line.
The demand for Frozen remains surprisingly strong, even years after the franchise first exploded. Families still prioritize meeting Anna and Elsa, and Frozen Ever After continues to be one of EPCOT’s top rides. When you combine both experiences in one tight pavilion, it creates the perfect storm for crowd overflow.
If this is what Frozen looks like before the ride even opens, it’s a clear sign EPCOT is going to keep seeing major crowd surges in Norway, especially as more guests build their day around the park’s biggest headliners.
