Germ Minimizing Items to Have in Your Park Bag at Walt Disney World

Castle Sunset

Planning a vacation to Walt Disney World? As you start making plans, it is important to start thinking about what we to pack on our next trip.  While Disney is fanatical about keeping their rooms and the parks clean, guests can also take precautions to ensure their safety so they stay healthy after visiting the parks.  Here are all of the germ minimizing items that you will want to have in your bag before you head to the parks!

1. Face Mask

Guests visiting the parks are required to wear face masks when visiting the parks, so make sure you have one with you.  It might be a good idea to bring an extra mask just in case.  Guests don’t need to worry — Disney has “rest areas” for guests to be able to take a break from wearing a mask, but require parties to maintain appropriate social distancing.  Additionally, guests are able to remove their masks while they are eating inside the parks. Even better, find a way to decorate your face mask to show your Disney side!

2. Hand Sanitizer

Disney has hand sanitizer throughout the parks and resorts to protect guests, but it is always a good idea to have a spare bottle in your bag so you can sanitize after eating or after getting off of your favorite attraction — there are plenty of small, travel-size bottles that can be thrown in a book bag or purse.  If you can’t find a small bottle, you can purchase small, TSA-approved bottles at the store and fill it from a larger container — it also gives you the ability to decorate them if you want!

3. Sanitizing Wipes

Even before the COVID-19 pandemic, Disney was very attentive to needing to keep the public areas of the parks, restaurants, and resorts clean. Disney has stepping up cleaning efforts, but guests should take some sanitizing wipes with them to the park — messes happen and having some extra wipes will make clean up a breeze.  Again, some stores sell smaller, travel-size packets of wipes, but if you can only find larger supplies of wipes, guests can transfer some into a plastic sandwich bag so you can carry them into the park.

4. Disposable Gloves

Some guests may want the extra safety that comes with wearing disposable gloves.  Guests are certainly able to wear gloves while visiting the parks, but the recommendation when wearing gloves is to remove them and replace them after touching something in the environment, so it might not be economically feasible to have that many gloves, but they may be a good idea when going into a high-traffic area like a bathroom.

5. Hand Wipes

In addition to hand sanitizer, guests can bring in disposable hand wipes that can be used to quickly and easily wipe their hands and in the process also clean them.  Having hand wipes makes it easy for you to clean up any messy snacks — especially a Mickey bar that starts to melt on a hot summer day!
