Goofy Attraction Now Open at Disney World–Here’s What To Expect

From high-energy play zones to underwater exploration and frontier reinventions, 2025 is shaping up to be a transformative year across Walt Disney World Resort—and nowhere is that evolution more vibrant than at EPCOT.

Just in time for summer, a beloved aquatic journey has reclaimed its full splash. The Seas with Nemo & Friends is now operating on a complete schedule once more, staying open until 9:00 p.m. as of May 27, in step with EPCOT’s regular closing hours.

The attraction—home to underwater scenes and a working aquarium—had seen reduced hours since January 17, 2025. Though Disney didn’t officially comment on the schedule change, the Walt Disney World calendar reflected the limited access through May 26.

Behind the scenes, subtle changes hinted at something brewing. Reports noted improvements to walkways, escalator repairs, and what appeared to be safety training updates for diving cast members, especially those supporting guests with disabilities. The behind-the-scenes work quietly brought back DiveQuest, EPCOT’s guided scuba tour inside the SeaBase Aquarium—and the triumphant return of its gentle manatee residents.

But as one favorite surges back to life, another temporarily transforms. CommuniCore Hall closed its doors on May 12 to prepare for a lively seasonal surprise: GoofyCore. Part of Disney’s “Cool Kid Summer” initiative, this indoor play zone embraces Goofy’s wild charm with activities like “Loopy Limbo” and “Parachutes ‘n’ Pipsqueaks,” plus DJ-hosted dance parties designed to delight younger parkgoers.

WDWMAGIC debuted a first-look video, showcasing a bright, playful atmosphere and sensory-rich spaces. The zany space is now open through September 1, 2025.

CommuniCore Plaza, which sits just outside the revamped Hall, remains open and active, continuing to host meet-and-greets with Mickey & Friends and outdoor performances. This dual-space approach allows EPCOT to keep the energy high while offering something new for every guest.

Beyond EPCOT, changes ripple across the resort. At Disney’s Animal Kingdom, DinoLand U.S.A. has bid farewell to several classic attractions, including TriceraTop Spin, Fossil Fun Games, and Chester & Hester’s Dinosaur Treasures. These closures set the stage for a brand-new themed area: Pueblo Esperanza.

Anchored by the world of Encanto and the thrills of Indiana Jones, this immersive destination aims to celebrate South American culture, magic, and adventure. Disney has not yet announced a timeline for the new land’s debut, but excitement is already brewing among fans of both franchises.

Over at Magic Kingdom, Frontierland is also being reshaped. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad took its last riders on January 13 before embarking on a substantial refurbishment. The work is expected to stretch across more than a year, with construction visible throughout the area.

This overhaul coincides with an ambitious reimagining that brings Pixar’s Cars into the Frontierland landscape, a bold fusion previewed during the most recent D23 Expo. Alongside the arrival of Radiator Springs comes something even more daring—a brand-new Disney Villains land, set to ignite imaginations with dark flair.

From the depths of the sea to high-octane desert highways and lush tropical jungles, Walt Disney World Resort continues its journey of reinvention. Each addition and update brings a fresh wave of wonder—and it’s only just the beginning.

When he’s not thinking about the Magic Kingdom, Thomas is usually reading a book, becoming desperately obsessed with fictional characters, or baking something delicious (his favorite is chocolate cake -- to bake and to eat). He's a dreamer and grew up on Mulan saving the world, Jim Hawkins soaring through the stars, and Padmé Amidala fighting a Nexu. At the Parks, he loves to ride Everest, stroll down Main Street with an overstuffed pin lanyard around his neck, and eat as many Mickey-shaped ice creams as possible. His favorite character is Han Solo (yes, he did shoot first), and his favorite TV show is Buffy the Vampire Slayer except when it's One Tree Hill. He loves sandy beach walks, forest hikes, and foodie days out in the Big City. Thomas lives in England, UK, with his fiancée, baby, and their dog, a Border Collie called Luna.
