In the lead-up to the fireworks, certain areas of the park are cordoned off, directing guests to detour around them. Notably, Fantasyland is closed to prevent any falling debris from the fireworks. This section typically shuts down about an hour before the show and reopens around 30 minutes after it finishes.
Navigating the Magic Kingdom can be inconvenient, especially with some areas blocked off. However, that doesn’t justify anger, aggression, or violent behavior. Unfortunately, a recent police report indicates that this is exactly what transpired a few weeks ago, resulting in the arrest of a guest.
On October 7, 2024, an incident involving a guest allegedly assaulting a Disney cast member occurred.
The guest, identified as Andrew Dixon, was reportedly with his wife and child when the events unfolded shortly after 8 p.m. as they attempted to access an area near Cinderella Castle, which was closed to guests at that time. According to police reports, Mr. Dixon confronted a cast member who directed his family towards an alternate route, resulting in an altercation that led to the use of a stroller as a weapon against the cast member.

As the family approached the closed area, a cast member informed Mr. Dixon that the bridge leading towards Fantasyland was not accessible due to preparations for the evening fireworks show. The cast member instructed Mr. Dixon and his family to navigate around her, which prompted a physical exchange.
The police report indicates that Mr. Dixon, in response to being redirected, aggressively shoved the cast member with his shoulder and then used the stroller — allegedly containing his child — to push against the cast member, making contact with her feet.
An independent witness corroborated the cast member’s account, stating they observed Mr. Dixon using the stroller to force his way past the cast member and noted his aggressive demeanor. This witness described the cast member attempting to redirect the family before being shoulder-checked and hit by the stroller.
Mr. Dixon was arrested and charged with battery, which is classified as a misdemeanor in this context. While he has publicly denied committing any wrongdoing, claiming that the cast member initiated the physical contact, his attorney has taken a firm stance in his defense. They have articulated plans to fight the charges, asserting that if any contact occurred, it was provoked by the cast member’s actions.
Disney officials stated there was no video evidence available from the night of the incident, a claim that Mr. Dixon’s legal team disputes. They have requested access to any potentially existing security footage to substantiate their client’s innocence, maintaining that such evidence would exonerate him.
We do not know if Mr. Dixon was issued a trespass notice and banned from Disney. However, Disney typically has a zero-tolerance policy for that kind of behavior.
Do you think Mr. Dixon should be banned from Disney? Should he face additional charges for allegedly using his child and the stroller as a weapon? Let us know in the comments!
