When it comes to the layout of a Disney theme park, there is no detail that isn’t thought of. Decorations, paint colors, door shapes, light posts, everything is where it is and looks the way it does for a reason. Even the trash cans. There are several stories about the history of Disney trash cans, but the prevailing one is that, when Guests entered Disneyland Park when it first opened, they were given pieces of candy. They were watched to see how long it was before they dropped the candy wrapper on the ground. It was about 30 feet. Because of that, trash cans at all Disney theme parks are only 30 feet away from each other.

Before Walt Disney opened Disneyland, theme parks had a reputation for being very dirty. Walt wanted Disneyland to be the opposite, and he worked very hard to achieve this goal. To this day, Disney Cast Members are always cleaning and trying to keep the Parks beautiful for Guests. Sadly, it seems that many Guests don’t care about doing their part to keep the Parks clean and enjoyable.

TikToker Theme Park Express (@themeparkexpressyt) recently visited Walt Disney World Resort and spent the evening in the Magic Kingdom. After the showing of the Happily Ever After fireworks show, Guests dispersed from Main Street, U.S.A. It was then that the TikToker couldn’t help but notice all the trash that was left on the ground. They began to film, and barely a second went by when they didn’t see a piece of trash. Other Guests didn’t seem to care as they walked around it or drove over it.

Commenters were disappointed that Guests would be so disrespectful when Cast Members work so hard. Many agreed that things have gotten worse recently and that Guests no longer seem to care. It’s especially disappointing since there are so many trash cans.

The theme park streets are not the only places where Guests love to leave their trash. Many noted that Disney parking lots are also becoming a place Guests love to trash. Some Guests seem to think that it is okay to leave a pile of trash next to their vehicle at the end of the night and then drive away. Cast Members then have to spend hours combing the parking lots and picking up the trash left by disrespectful Guests.

If you are visiting a Disney Park, please, make sure that you and your party throw all trash in the trash cans. If one is full, take your trash to the next one. As stated above, you are never more than 30 feet from another trash can. Cast Members work very hard for us, the least we can do is play our part in keeping Disney beautiful.

  1. Unfortunately people from many other countries and out of state tourists are the reason for the filthy trash left behind because they think it is a right for them to go to the parks. Well it is NOT!!! It is a PRIVILEGE and they totally disrespect it by the video that was posted. They are noisy they are rude they are unruly the JUST DON’T GIVE A DAM!! the term Keep America Beautiful should also say KEEP THE PARKS BEAUTIFUL!!! It’s disgusting and too bad they can not be restricted from coming here unless they can be more caring for the hard work that goes into keeping the parks beautiful. So disgusted with these arrogant careless visitors.
