Halle Bailey Finally Answers THE Burning Question About Ariel’s New Hair

Now that the new Little Mermaid movie craze is over — even though debates about the rap song sung by Awkwafina and debates about the new Ariel Meet and Greet in Disney World continue to thrive online — there is just one major question left for the actress playing the new version of Ariel!

Halle Bailey became a household name after her casting in the role of Ariel was announced, and unfortunately, that leveled-up fame led to some painfully-racist and hateful comments from people on a disturbingly-large scale.

Locs and the New Little Mermaid

However, Halle’s casting also inspired many people and allowed many audience members (especially children) to really feel seen when they saw a Disney princess who looked like them.

Ariel’s locs were a huge part of that inspiration; they did look red to suit the role of Ariel, but they were still in keeping with Halle’s own real locs — and apparently both Halle and the film director Rob Marshall were insistent on that!

Now, the new Disney movie has been a huge success and many Disney fans have seen Halle’s performance.

In a recent interview with Glamour (shown below), the protégée of Beyoncé’ confirmed that she is “so happy that other little babies who have locs will be able to see themselves and be like ‘You know what? I can be a princess. I’m beautiful too.'”

Fans’ Burning Question For Halle

Different hair requires different maintenance — as any Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique Cast Member can now tell you after some brand-new training — and one burning question from Halle’s fans apparently involved her haircare secrets.

As it turns out, Halle has only one tip for taking care of locs, and that is “just to moisturize them often!”

“Sometimes I forget,” the singer and actress confessed laughingly. Bailey also mentioned her best skincare secret, which is to “just leave it alone” when it comes to acne.
