How Dining at Disney May Be Different When the Parks Reopen

For the businesses that are still operating during this difficult time, employees are limiting their contact with customers.  When ordering pizza, many businesses are using “Contactless Delivery” where the food is left by the door and the employee steps away before the customer gets their food.   Disney may utilize steps like this for smaller snack stands like popcorn and soda.  Rather than having the Cast Members directly hand the bottle of soda to the guests, they might encourage the guest to select their own Coke from the cooler.

Sanitizer Throughout Parks

Prior to the parks closing, Disney had already edited park maps and expanded the availability of sanitizer stations throughout the parks.  Once the parks re-open, we expect those sanitizer stations become permanent additions to the parks, as well as these being added to every dining cart or kiosk to allow guest to sanitize before picking up their food. 

Expanded Hours?

This is a guess, but Disney will have to try and offset the loss of revenue from decreasing their capacity at table service restaurants, we are hopeful that this means restaurants may be open longer.  Whether this means some extra hours or additional meals, we don’t know at this point.  Restaurants only open for dinner may begin to open earlier for dinner at 3 or 4 PM so one or two more sittings can be accommodated each day or maybe even these restaurants that offer one meal may be extended to offer a second meal. 

Obviously all of these details will be announced to the public before the parks re-open and will be reinforced by helpful Cast Members in the parks and at the resorts.  Disney has always been sensitive to and protective of the needs and desires of the guests.  They will accommodate these into their park re-opening procedures, so guests should expect these changes on their next visit to Disney World.  Do you think Disney will use any other changes to their restaurants when they open again?
