For nearly ten years, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson was one of the most well-known and beloved wrestlers in the World Wrestling Federation — later renamed World Wrestling Entertainment. He was known for his own fight-ending move — the Rock Bottom — and his signature catchphrase, “If you smell what The Rock is cooking.” Johnson ended up leaving WWE in 2004, as his film career was taking off, but did return from 2011 through 2019 and again in 2023.

In 2001, Johnson appeared in his first movie, The Mummy Returns. He took that opportunity and ran with it, becoming one of the most in-demand actors in Hollywood. In 2023, he was even named the highest-paid actor in Hollywood. Over the past two decades, he has appeared in a number of major movies, including Race to Witch Mountain (2009), Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle (2017), Jungle Cruise (2021), and Black Adam (2022).
Johnson has also become a huge part of the Disney family, starring not only in Jungle Cruise but also in the hit 2016 animated film Moana, where he voiced the demigod Maui. Johnson will be returning as Maui for Moana 2, which comes out this November, and he will also play Maui in the live-action remake, which will hit theaters in 2026.
In 2012, Johnson created his own production company, Seven Bucks Productions. Seven Bucks has worked with Disney on Jungle Cruise and also is currently working on the sequel film. The company also helped create the Disney+ original series, Behind the Attraction.

Back in June, Seven Bucks signed an exclusive first-look deal with Disney. The agreement allows Johnson and his founding partner, Danny Garcia, to produce a number of films for theatrical and streaming release. It will also allow Johnson to star in the films, and Seven Bucks can collaborate across Disney divisions.
And it seems that Johnson’s interest in Disney expands into the theme parks.
Johnson recently shared how he would love to bring more “Rock” to the parks now that the Seven Bucks deal with Disney is signed.
Clearly I haven’t changed much from being this little bucked toothed, afro’d hair, punk kid who used to get mistaken all the time for a sweet, yet trouble making little girl ????????
We signed a very cool @sevenbucksprod deal with @DisneyStudios which puts me one step closer to accomplishing the following…
Rock’s Infamous Cheat Meals at @DisneyParks
????????????????????????????Add @teremana tequila to a Disney Dole Whip
????????????Build Rock’s Iron Paradise Gym on a @DisneyCruise – for passengers to work off all those glorious calories ???? ????????????
All the above ☝???? or none of the above ???????? may come true ???? but our new deal ???? guarantees we get to work hard and have fun delivering entertainment for people around the world.
Back to work.
More to come.

Johnson will be returning as Maui and Australian actress Catherine Laga’aia will play the Polynesian princess. John Tui will play Moana’s father, Chief Tui, Frankie Adams will play Moana’s mother Sina, and Rena Owen will play Grandma Tala.
